Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce could be in jeopardy of missing the season opener against the New York Knicks on Christmas Day because of a heel injury.
Pierce suffered the bruised heel in the Celtics' first practice and he been watching on the sidelines since. He will not play in Wednesday's preseason finale against the Toronto Raptors.

If Paul is going to miss the season opener against New York I'd expect to see the same move. Judging from everything Doc has said Marquis is too valuable off the bench to screw up any chemistry that has actually formed, as little as that might be.
