Lamb sent to D-League for playing time

With his playing time diminished, the Milwaukee Bucks have sent rookie guard Doron Lamb to the D-League. Lamb, who practiced with the Bucks on Saturday, will join the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Sunday and will join the team for their upcoming road trip to Los Angeles and Bakersfield. Finding a niche in the Bucks' rotation in late November, Lamb averaged 15.9 minutes per game during...

Monroe, Knight lead the Pistons past Bucks

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Greg Monroe had 26 points and 11 rebounds, Brandon Knight added 20 points and the Detroit Pistons beat Milwaukee 103-87 on Friday night to hand interim coach Jim Boylan his first lost with the Bucks. Detroit led 74-60 going into the fourth quarter and squashed any hope of a Bucks comeback when Monroe scored on a hook shot, layup and dunk and Knight added a 3-pointer...

Pistons use big third quarter to beat Bucks

MILWAUKEE -- Playing for the first time in four days, the Detroit Pistons could expect to be a little rusty. And for the first half Friday against Milwaukee, the Pistons looked very much like a team trying to dust off cobwebs. Whatever head coach Lawrence Frank said at halftime worked, as the Pistons came out on fire in the second half and rode a 33-point third quarter to a 103...

Energetic Bucks 2-0 since coaching change

ST. FRANCIS, Wis. -- Jim Boylan made it clear from the beginning that he was going to enjoy his time as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, however long that may be. His players seemed to have followed suit. Playing with a newfound energy and seemingly having fun on the court, Milwaukee is riding the wave of a midseason coaching change to a 2-0 record under Boylan. "I think...

Slow third quarter proves costly in Pistons' loss

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- When the Pistons were champions, they always struggled with the Utah Jazz. Nothing has changed. Detroit had a 15-point lead against a demoralized Jazz squad Saturday night and still managed to lose 90-87. Utah has now beaten the Pistons 13 times in the last 14 games. "We had a good feeling about this game, especially after a good win last night,"...

Bucks' loss to Detroit 'tough pill to swallow'

MILWAUKEE -- So much for momentum. As has happened so often this season, the Milwaukee Bucks couldn't push forward when on the cusp of building momentum. Detroit outscored Milwaukee 33-11 in the third quarter and 62-38 in the second half to overcome an eight-point halftime deficit and cruise to a 103-87 victory at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. "It was an unfortunate...

Pistons get boost from bench

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Detroit had just upset the Miami Heat and LeBron James was reviewing the game with reporters when he saved some of his most effusive praise for an unlikely recipient. It was Pistons guard Will Bynum, who at one point this season went three weeks without scoring. "He controlled the game," James said. "We couldn't do anything with him...

Jazz 90, Pistons 87

Al Jefferson scored 10 of his 20 points in the third quarter, and the Utah Jazz rallied to beat the Detroit Pistons 90-87 on Saturday night. Detroit's Brandon Knight missed a 3-pointer in the final seconds that would have tied the game after the Pistons trailed by 13 points with 3:26 left. Jefferson helped the Jazz outscore Detroit 25-11 in the third, powering them to their...

Jazz-Pistons Preview

Winners of seven of nine, the Detroit Pistons might feel like their season-opening eight-game losing streak was ages ago. To continue the success, they'll try Saturday night to knock off a Utah Jazz team that has won 14 of 16 in the series. The Pistons (14-23) return home, where they've won five of six, after beating Milwaukee 103-87 on Friday. They held the Bucks to 39...

Pistons-Bucks Preview

A coaching change might have been what the Milwaukee Bucks needed to get back on track. They should have a good chance to remain undefeated under interim coach Jim Boylan when they try for a fourth straight home victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. Milwaukee (18-16) was on a season-high four-game skid when the team and coach Scott Skiles mutually decided to part ways...
