AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Greg Monroe had 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons won for just the second time this season, 103-83, over the Boston Celtics at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Sunday. Jason Maxiell contributed 15 points for the Pistons, who had six double-figure scorers, while Kyle Singler and Rodney Stuckey had 14 apiece. Rajon Rondo had 12 points and 10 assists while Kevin Garnett supplied a team-high 15 points for Boston (6-5), which had won four of its last five. The Pistons (2-9) squandered double-digit, second-half leads in their previous three home games but didn't fall apart after opening up a big third-quarter lead Sunday. Maxiell scored six points in the first five minutes of the second half, including a pair of mid-range jumpers, as the Pistons built upon their five-point halftime lead. When Tayshaun Prince made a baseline jumper with 5:17 left in the third, Detroit's lead was up to 12, 63-51. An 8-0 run that included four Stuckey ...
BEST OF MAXIM
To see Jason Maxiell coming at you — all six feet, seven inches, and 260 pounds of him — I imagine it would be something like looking down the barrel of a fired cannon. You know an extremely large and powerful projectile is headed your way, and that it’s coming so fast that you’ll be very lucky to avoid it, and that there’s a grave possibility that you’re about to face...
Despite a slow start, the Detroit Pistons were able to do something they really haven’t done in a while. Yeah their 103-83 rout of the Boston Celtics was their first home win of the season, but unlike past performances where they’ve taken a lead into the fourth quarter, Detroit was actually able to hold on and finish the game.

The Celtics did their best last night to give these poor Pistons fans something to cheer about. However, they were so busy waiting for a collapse that they couldn't enjoy it. And what's a CFTOS without a wheelchair mention and complaints about the refs. Although, they do admit that they got their share of the calls too. Enjoy today's Comments....

Once again, it took Rondo until the final minute of the game to get his 10th assist, but thanks to Jared Sullinger, Rondo's streak of games with 10 or more assists continues. He is now just 3 games away from John Stockton's record. Doc kept Rondo in the game in the final minutes, even though it was a blow out, to get his 9th and 10 assists. It wasn't that he wasn&...
That just happened. Yeah, that. The Boston Celtics just lost to the Detroit Pistons. Yes, those Detroit Pistons. The 1-9, last place in a weak Central Division, hadn’t won a game at home, worst team in the NBA not named the Wizards Detroit Pistons. And they lost by 20. Watching tonight’s game was like watching [...]
8 a.m. ET: These Pistons are redefining the nickname, “Bad Boys.”
Through 10 games, the Pistons are really bad. They lost their first eight games and followed up their first win of the season with a loss to the rebuilding Magic. Greg Monroe is still an improving young big man, but once-key players like Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum have continued their fall toward irrelevance...

Greg Monroe had a great game as his hustle took advantage of the step-slow CelticsThe Celtics looked like they had a long weekend, as they finished one of the toughest stretches of their season with five games in seven days with a loss. Last night in was a dunk fest in Detroit between the Pistons and Orlando Magic. Both Jason Maxiell and Tayshaun Prince had monster dunks on Glen Daivs. Both dunks were monster dunks that you could put on a poster.
In the end though, the Magic won the game and Davis finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
