AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Greg Monroe couldn't take another fourth-quarter collapse. The Detroit Pistons had blown double-digit, second-half leads in their first three home games but weren't about to let another one slip away. Led by Monroe's 20 points and 13 rebounds, they took command in the third quarter and cruised to a 103-83 victory over the Boston Celtics at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Sunday. "It opened our eyes," Monroe said of the previous collapses. "Those are games we should have won. We could have controlled that." Jason Maxiell contributed 15 points for the Pistons, who had six double-figure scorers and won for just the second time this season. Kyle Singler and Rodney Stuckey had 14 apiece as the Pistons shot 54.2 percent and outrebounded Boston, 39-30. Detroit's defense held the Celtics to 31.6 percent shooting in the second and third quarters, and Boston had six more turnovers (18) than assists. "We had really good de...

Despite a slow start, the Detroit Pistons were able to do something they really haven’t done in a while. Yeah their 103-83 rout of the Boston Celtics was their first home win of the season, but unlike past performances where they’ve taken a lead into the fourth quarter, Detroit was actually able to hold on and finish the game.

To see Jason Maxiell coming at you — all six feet, seven inches, and 260 pounds of him — I imagine it would be something like looking down the barrel of a fired cannon. You know an extremely large and powerful projectile is headed your way, and that it’s coming so fast that you’ll be very lucky to avoid it, and that there’s a grave possibility that you’re about to face...
It was a banner week for the Detroit Pistons compared to the first couple of weeks.
After losing their first eight games, the Pistons won not only their first of the season but their second as well.

The Celtics did their best last night to give these poor Pistons fans something to cheer about. However, they were so busy waiting for a collapse that they couldn't enjoy it. And what's a CFTOS without a wheelchair mention and complaints about the refs. Although, they do admit that they got their share of the calls too. Enjoy today's Comments....

Once again, it took Rondo until the final minute of the game to get his 10th assist, but thanks to Jared Sullinger, Rondo's streak of games with 10 or more assists continues. He is now just 3 games away from John Stockton's record. Doc kept Rondo in the game in the final minutes, even though it was a blow out, to get his 9th and 10 assists. It wasn't that he wasn&...
Greg Monroe had a great game as his hustle took advantage of the step-slow CelticsThe Celtics looked like they had a long weekend, as they finished one of the toughest stretches of their season with five games in seven days with a loss. Mike Gorman was saying the Palace at Auburn Hills’ air conditioning was broken and it showed as Kevin Garnett had an extra glisten on his brow...
That just happened. Yeah, that. The Boston Celtics just lost to the Detroit Pistons. Yes, those Detroit Pistons. The 1-9, last place in a weak Central Division, hadn’t won a game at home, worst team in the NBA not named the Wizards Detroit Pistons. And they lost by 20. Watching tonight’s game was like watching [...]
8 a.m. ET: These Pistons are redefining the nickname, “Bad Boys.”
Through 10 games, the Pistons are really bad. They lost their first eight games and followed up their first win of the season with a loss to the rebuilding Magic. Greg Monroe is still an improving young big man, but once-key players like Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum have continued their fall toward irrelevance...
Jeff Green's monster dunk over Big Al leads the dunks of the week. But, Tayshaun Prince's posterization of former Celtic Big Baby Davis is worth a look as well.
