Former Louisville point guard Peyton Siva left for Detroit last week to begin his pro career with the Detroit Pistons. Siva was drafted by the Pistons with the 56th overall pick. It’s not very common that guys taken that late in the draft stick around, however Siva proved he was worthy of a contract while playing for Detroit in the NBA Summer League.
The only problem was that there simply wasn’t an open roster spot for Siva. That changed when Detroit completed a blockbuster trade in late July that sent Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton and center Viacheslav Kravtsov to Milwaukee for All Star point guard Brandon Jennings.
Just a fews days after the trade, Siva signed a two year contract with the Pistons.
