Joe Dumars and the Detroit Pistons look to bring another big man aboard.
According to various sources, the Pistons are set to sign 7-foot Ukrainian center Vyacheslav Kravtsov to a multi-year deal when he can officially sign on July 11th.
“We are engaged in negotiations with Vyacheslav Kravtsov and will enter into a player contract when the moratorium period ends,” Dumars said.
“Vyacheslav intends to sign a player contract with the Pistons when the moratorium period ends,” Kravtsov’s representative, Jeff Schwartz, said Sunday night in a story on ESPN.com.
The 24-year-old Kravtsov does have very limited NBA experience having played for the Boston Celtics summer league team in 2010. Last season Kravtsov averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds for BC Donetsk of the Ukrainian League.
It’s expected that the addition of Kravtsov won’t rush the Pistons in developing newly drafted Andre Drummond.
