If these two preseason games are any indication of what the regular season is going to be like, it is going to be a long season for Suns fans. Phoenix had a better defensive effort, but their woeful shooting caused the Suns to drop their second straight and last preseason game to the Nuggets, 110-85. The Suns got off to a slow start right out of the gates scoring only 16 points in the first 12 minutes of the game. The home team followed that up with a 34-point in the second quarterback, but only put 35 points on the scoreboard during the entire second half. Phoenix shot under 37 percent from the field and went 7-of-23 from three-point range. Turnovers were a real killer for the Suns as well as they had 19 miscues on the night. Steve Nash and Ronnie Price combined for 10 of those while eight other Suns had at least one turnover. There were for four lone bright spots for the Suns offensively. Jared Dudley led his team in scoring with 17 points, which included making five of his six s...

Suns' season motto: No margin for error

The following attempt to pinpoint the potential of this season's Phoenix Suns has been distilled into one chilling sentence delivered by Alvin Gentry: "Our margin for error is not great," the Suns' coach said. The brutal translation? The Suns must execute their offense with a sinister precision not witnessed last season. They also must make shots at a soaring...

Alvin Gentry says Spurs can't beat Suns offensively

The Phoenix Suns. Year after year San Antonio Spurs served up the Suns heartache in the playoffs with hard-nosed defense and not to mention a little luck.It was that tough defense that stymied the Suns' offensive prowess time-after-time in the playoffs and it just seemed the Suns never learned that defense wins out over offense. And it seems the Suns still haven't learned...

Suns Buyout Mickael Pietrus

In a move that was very surprising to me the Phoenix Suns bought out the contract of Mickael Pietrus. Key word being bought out, not amnestied. This means the Suns still have their one-time amnesty to use at another point. What they did instead was pay $4.2 million of his contract and placed him on waivers. The Suns bought out Pietrus’ contract, paying him about $4.2 million...

Boston Celtics ready to make move after Phoenix Suns waive Mickael Pietrus

Mickael Pietrus is racking up the frequent flier miles. Next stop Beantown. After the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors called off their trade for Pietrus after concerns surrounding some swelling in his knee after an exam and workout for the Raptors, Pietrus flew from Ottowa, Canada to Phoenix last week for a re-evaluation and meeting with the Suns. Now the Boston Celtics are ready...

Steve Nash preaches patience as Suns work to correct issues

The Suns dropped their final preseason game on Thursday, and unfortunately for them, the result was a familiar one. The Nuggets cruised to a second straight blowout victory over Phoenix, but this one was far more humbling for the Suns, considering that Nene, Al Harrington, and Ty Lawson all sat this one out due to…

Mikeal Pietrus to join Boston Celtics?

Mickael Pietrus, recently released by the Phoenix Suns, is leaning “heavily” towards signing with the Boston Celtics, according to a league source. 2011-12 Phoenix Suns Preview

The real big change was losing star power forward Amare Stoudemire to the bright lights of the big city in New York. Without the All-Star, coach Alvin Gentry cobbled together a solid, albeit far less spectacular offensive club but fell off badly at the defensive end.
