Beyond The Buzzer:
Calling Thursday’s sideline incident at Madison Square Garden that led to forward Stephen Jackson’s right ankle sprain “a Mayoral mishap,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich called on the NBA to police activity along the league’s sidelines and baselines.
“It’s maddening,” Popovich said of the incident in which Jackson lost his balance after running into a waitress during the first quarter of the Spurs-Knicks game. The waitress appeared to be taking an order from New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
“It’s an accident waiting to happen…It’s obvious people shouldn’t be ordering beers or Cokes or hot dogs when the game is going on.”

There's some good news for San Antonio Spurs 2012 NBA draftee guard Marcus Denmon and his road to recovery from foot surgery.
As you may recall, Denmon broke his right foot in the opening game for French team Chalon-Elan. He underwent surgery to repair his broken right foot where a metal rod was placed in his foot to strengthen it and to avoid further injury.
San Antonio Spurs guard Patty Mills knows his role with the team quite well.
After leading Team Australia at the 2012 Olympics (and leading all Olympic players in scoring at 21.2 points per game), Mills knew he may not be pouring in those kinds of numbers for the Spurs, but understood he would have a role coming off the bench.
In a nutshell, try to do what he did for Team...
For most of the year, San Antonio Spurs fans can say they've seen many sightings of the old Tim Duncan. Last night, it was Manu Ginobili showing flashes for one game at least.. GInobili had an awesome between the legs pass in the 3rd quarter, but before that in the 1st quarter of the game he set the tone for the Spurs with an exciting dunk that we haven't seen from him in years.
Former San Antonio Spurs power forward Malik Rose was one of the most respected players on the team with his hustle and energy on both ends of the floor.
Now a Philadelphia 76ers' commentator for their games, Rose still keeps tabs on his former team and teammates who are on their final run for the franchise's fifth championship.
On what's the most important issue...

The San Antonio Spurs appeared to solve their recent road struggles with back-to-back wins away from home, but a lopsided loss to finish their most recent trip could be cause for concern.
San Antonio, though, should be primed to bounce back Monday night when it visits the New Orleans Hornets, who have lost seven straight home games.
While they've won 10 straight at home, the...

The matchup of the night between the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers will be between Tony Parker and Jrue Holiday.
This will be the first matchup of the season between the two teams. Both men have similar games and will look to outplay each other in the same areas.
Holiday, like Parker, prefers to get in the paint and also do his damage from mid range (56% from restricted...
SAN ANTONIO -- The Spurs looked like a team that just got a break. The Sixers looked like a team that needed one. At the end of a grueling eight-game road trip, including four games in the last five nights, the road-weary Sixers lost to the Spurs 109-86 on Saturday night at the AT&T Center. The Spurs had a similarly difficult period, playing the same four-in-five nights kind...
There isn't much San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili hasn't done to "wow" fans in the stands. From clutch shots, ridiculous dunks to bullet passes, Manu has done much to dazzle on the court during his time in the NBA.

With 19 wins separating the San Antonio Spurs (27-9) and the New Orleans Hornets (8-25), it should be an easy win from a fan's standpoint.
From a player's standpoint, Tim Duncan knows better and his San Antonio Spurs aren't going to think underestimate the Hornets.
Their coach, Monty Williams, comes from the Spurs' organization and was influenced by Duncan...

The San Antonio Spurs had been rolling before coming up short their last time out due in part to a lack of energy.
The Philadelphia 76ers could be faced with a similar issue Saturday night as they conclude a season-high eight-game road trip.
Seeking a 10th straight home win, the Spurs try to get back on track against a 76ers team surely dreading another visit to San Antonio.
