High school basketball star Kaela Davis (pictured left with the ball), the second-ranked prospect in the country according to the ESPN HoopGurlz rankings, won’t be leading her high school team to another state championship this spring.
Per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (via The Gwinnett Daily Post), the 6-2 guard has not played with her high school team since January 26th and is no longer a member of the squad. Davis’ coach reportedly could not be reached to comment on the situation.
Davis, a Georgia Tech signee, led two different high schools to state championships during her career and is a two-time gold medal winner with USA Basketball. She is also amongst the finalist under consideration to be selected to play in April’s McDonald’s High School All-American Game in Chicago.
Davis’ father Antonio played with Pacers, Raptors, Bulls, and Knicks in his NBA career.
