Celtics Targeting a Vet for Final Spot
When the Celtics waived Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith yesterday, speculation began on what the next step would be. Christmas had become a fan favorite and had impressed coach Tyronn Lue in summer league. He also had become close to Jason Terry, who took the rookie guard under his wing. There were several articles touting Christmas as having the inside track to gain one of the...
Rajon Rondo the quiet leader of the Celtics?
Rajon Rondo has long been considered a supremely talented player who has an attitude problem. He was supposed to be the leader of the Celtics for the past few years, but there were reports saying Boston was considering trading him because he had become so difficult. He’s had several run-ins with referees, blowups at the media, and he notably struggled to get along Ray Allen last...
KG Unlikely for Tonight's Game
Doc Rivers said Kevin Garnett is unlikely to play tonight vs. #sixers. He said it will depend on how Garnett looks at shootaround #celtics
— gary washburn (@GwashNBAGlobe) October 15, 2012
With 6 games in 9 nights, it was expected that Doc would more than likely rest his vets in at least a couple of the games. It looks like tonight vs the Sixers might be KG's turn to rest...
The Brave and the Bold: Kris Joseph
"Kris, I think he's an all-around player" -Danny Ainge
Lost in the training camp battles and storylines (Can Jamar Smith be a backup PG? Can Dionte Christmas get any more likeable?) is the battle for one young man. I watched this guy ever since he got to Syracuse in 2008 (Proud brother of a Syracuse graduate). When we drafted him in the second round this year, I was...
Celtics Lose to Sixers 107-75 - Nothing To See Here
Not much to say about this one except to learn from it and move on. The Celtics stayed within 2 in the first quarter but after that, it wasn't even close. Once again, one of the culprits was turnovers as the Celtics gave the ball away 21 times. Another problem was once again their pick and roll defense. That's one thing they have to solve before the season starts because...
Boston Celtics / Zombie Slayers
Two things I love, and have been anticipating for months now, have finally started this past week: Boston Celtics basketball and AMC’s phenomenal TV show Walking Dead. Now I’m not sure if the show’s Executive Producer Glen Mazzara and NBA Commissioner David Stern collaborated to bring me this confluence of visual ecstasy, but whoever is [...]
Celtics Struggle Losing 75 to 107
In their second NBA preseason game the Celtics matched up against the 76ers for the first time since last years 2012 NBA Playoffs. The offseason brought all new players to both teams shifting Doc's gameplan and match-ups. One of the most notable differences was the absence of Andre Iguodala who was shipped off to Denver in a multi-player deal that brought former Lakers center...
Jason Terry and Dionte Christmas lose to 5 women in a pick-up game
The NOC has been doing behind-the-scenes videos with new Celtic Jason Terry. In the most recent edition just released, JET and Dionte Christmas play a game of pick-up basketball against 5 female basketball players. Hopefully this wasn't the reason Christmas got waived from the team!
Bynum set for another knee injection
Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum is scheduled for another injection on his injured right knee.
Bynum on Monday will receive an injection of Synvisc, a gel-like substance that sometimes provides relief for inflamed tissue. The natural substance is designed to lubricate and cushion the joint. The Sixers say the shot has been a routine procedure for Bynum during the previous...
Comments from the other side - Sixers 10/15
Well, that was unpleasant to watch. Hopefully the Celtics got
that all out of their system and hopefully Doc can start defining roles a
bit more so that they can get into a groove before the start of the
season. Sixers fans aren't all that bad a bunch. They don't seem to
have the vitriol that say Knicks fans or Heat fans or Lakers fans have.
My favorite comment was...

The New Green?
1st time all star? Comeback player of the year? Top 25 player in the NBA? How about all three. Jeff Green is back and his resurgence is as important to the Celtic's future as is Rondo's steady climb to become and maintain the title of the league's best playmaker. What is even more important is their connection and how they are able to make eachother better. The duo of...
