The New Jersey Nets waived veteran point guard Rafer Alston on Tuesday.
Alston, an 11-year vet, played 27 games with the 3-31 Nets, while averaging 9.7 points and 3.9 assists per game.
Alston, A.K.A. 'Skip to My Lou,' was scheduled to receive $5.2M this season, but reached an undisclosed buyout payment to leave the team.
Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe had high praise for the Alston, stating that he was a professional that never complained.
Where Alston will land next is unknown, but his 10ppg, 5apg career average should be an asset to a contender.
