Rajon Rondo (bruised hip) out tonight vs. Golden State...details to come. — Sean Grande (@SeanGrandePBP) December 30, 2012 Jason Terry and Courtney Lee will be the only guards active on the Celtics roster tonight with both Rondo and Barbosa out. Too bad the C's didn't bring Avery Bradley along on this trip. Could of used him tonight. Expect to see Paul Pierce and Jeff Green play some shooting guard tonight. Kris Joseph might also get some non garbage time run. My prediction: Big game from Courtney Lee tonight.

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “Rondo’s point: Cause for concern” via Steve Bulpett A war cry for a lot of fans this year has been: “It’s only ____we all know that the Celtics never start playing well until April“. Well, Rajon Rondo...

ESPN Box Score Game Summary: Wow. What is there to say? The Kings outplayed the Celtics the whole game, except for the second quarter which the Celtics won 31-30. The defense did not show up, allowing the Kings to shoot 53.7% from the field and 50% from 3. DeMarcus Cousins got his first triple-double. Jason Thompson, Isiah Thomas, and John Salmons scored over 20 points for the...

Enemy Chatter: A Kings blogger thinks the Celtics have a good defense

We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Sacramento. Isaiah Thomas torched Boston’s vaunted defense through repeated drives to the basket and shots from outside. Thomas scored a season-high 27 points on 10-15 shooting and added 5 assists and 4 rebounds. His counterpart, Rajon...

Celtics-Kings Live: Rajon Rondo Is Questionable for Sunday Night’s Game

8 a.m. ET: A horrendous road trip can end on an up note if the Celtics pull off the very achievable goal of beating the Sacramento Kings on Sunday night. Well, normally that goal would be achievable. Even in their current state, the Celtics (14-15) would figure to have an easy time dismissing the Kings (10-19). Nothing is certain with the Celtics at the moment, though. Celtics fans...

All-NBA “Ugliest Jump Shot” Team

Some players’ jump shots in the NBA are so ugly, they bring two things to mind. One: how does their shot ever go in? Two: how have they not learned to shoot?  Of the players on the Ugliest Jump Shot Team, only one is a decent shooter, despite the fact that he uses more elbow on his jumper then Metta World Peace does on James Harden. PG: Rajon Rondo via bleacherreport.com Rondo’s...

Sports Illustrated includes Courtney Lee on their "All-Disappointment Team"

Not the type of accolade that Courtney Lee was looking for. Lee has been named a starter on SI.com's All-Disappointment Team joining Deron Williams, D.J. Augustin, Ersan Ilyasova, and Andrea Bargnani. Here's what Sports Illustrated had to say about Lee:Fits between team and player rarely come cleaner than the meeting of Lee, a skilled and versatile combo guard who plays...

Your Morning Dump… This is where the plastic people melt

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “These are dog days. This is when you really see who’s with you right now. You know, ain’t nobody cheering. Ain’t no lights on us right now. And I love this right here, because this is when all the plastic...

Celtics-Warriors Live: Rajon Rondo, C’s Take on Resurgent Golden State, Led by Stephen Curry

8 a.m. ET: The Golden State Warriors have not exactly had a marquee rivalry with the Celtics in recent years, and the matchup could be just as lopsided this time — only the lopsidedness could go in a different direction. The Warriors (19-10), led by a potential future All-Star backcourt of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, host the Celtics (14-14), who come to Oakland searching...

My first Boston Celtics' Game Gone Wrong

Celticslife writers looking good Disappointing, disgrace, upsetting. That is exactly how I felt going to my first Boston Celtics' game last night. I was really excited to go, and when I first bought the ticket in October, I thought it would be a guaranteed win, but I was totally wrong. I first met Paul Pierce in 2002, giving away signed autographs of his game "NBA Inside...

Recap: Celtics get crushed by Clippers

Well for those that fell asleep waiting for the game to start after Darren Collison hit the shot of the year, you really didn’t miss much.  The Clippers got out to a huge lead early and the Celtics couldn’t buy a bucket tonight as the Clippers win their 15th straight in a 106-77  blowout. The Green: Kevin Garnett. He finished the night with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting...

Boston Celtics have been REALLY bad at defending spot-up sets

I’m guessing most of you don’t feel like re-watching the carnage that happened over the past few days, but not to worry: I hated myself enough to review what happened. You can thank me with gift baskets. Now let’s talk about how awful Boston’s defense has been before I go back to banging my head painfully against the corner of a cabinet. There’s been a common theme —a...

Recap: Rondo-less C’s struggle to keep up with Warriors

I’ll say this for the Boston Celtics, they didn’t give up.  They were down 20 in the third quarter, but they made a big run to cut it to single-digits by the 4th.  But the Celtics just couldn’t keep pace with Golden State.  As Doc says, it’s a make/miss league, and the Celtics missed.. a lot… in a big loss to Golden State. The Green Jared Sullinger played his ass off...
