During last night’s Wizards-Raptors game, Washington’s JaVale McGee put up a running hook shot then ran back on defense, even though his team came up with the rebound.

We've seen some pretty strange clips so far this 2012 NBA season but this play featuring Wizards center JaVale McGee might be one of the funniest.The Wizards played the Raptors last night and McGee in the second quarter misses a simple hook shot.Washington was able to retain possession but JaVale didn't realize that and ran down court:

In case you don't know, the Washington Wizards are a mess. From Flip Saunders getting fired, to JaVale McGee showboating and subsequently getting benched, this team needs a complete overhaul.

This is why Javale McGee is who he is. After missing a short runner, McGee hustles back on defense, lowering his head in frustration. Only one problem—the Wizards got the offensive rebound and were ready to re-start the offense. Too bad McGee had already run out of the picture. John Wall’s reaction is utterly priceless. The Washington Wizards have lost two straight games by a combined 43 points and have hardly resembled the group that won twice in Coach Randy Wittman’s first five games.
The most recent beating came against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Washington fell behind early and trailed by as many as 36 points in the second half of a 107-81 loss at Verizon Center.
