The NBA suspended Toronto forward Amir Johnson for one game without pay for tossing his mouthpiece at a referee during a game. Johnson was to sit out the Raptors' home game Wednesday night against Brooklyn after the league handed down the suspension late Tuesday night. Losing the game check will cost Johnson approximately $73,000. The incident occurred Monday night during Toronto's 92-74 loss to Portland. Johnson tossed his mouthguard at an official, who had turned away, when he was ejected for holding the ball after a free throw in the third quarter. "I really wanted to know what happened," Johnson said, according to reports. "Nothing was said. I lost my cool right there. I never had any problems all the eight years I've been in the league. I never argued with a ref or did anything wrong." Johnson is averaging 7.1 points and 5.4 rebounds in 22 games this season.
