The Toronto Raptors have officially reached an agreement with star swingman DeMar DeRozan Wednesday to get past the day’s midnight deadline for contract extensions, reports ESPN.
The deal, sources say, will be a four-year contract worth $40 million. The deal also has incentives. The contract extension will be finalized officially after the Raptors finish off their season-opening game versus the Indiana Pacers.
Sources say that if DeRozan reaches the incentives in the deal, the overall contract value could reach $46 million. DeRozan is showing that he is becoming one of the league’s young star and the focal point of Toronto’s squad.
Toronto is starting to become a lot better now and with all the young pieces they have, they look like a playoff-contender in the making for next season. The 23-year-old is entering a big season this year in his third year and Toronto is showing a lot of faith in the young baller by throwing this deal.
DeRozan had a pretty good sophomore campaign last season, averaging about 17 points, three rebounds and two assists.

DeMar DeRozan seems to be getting his money’s worth now with the Toronto Raptors. After agreeing to a four-year, $40 million extension with the Raptors before taking on the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night in the team’s season-opener, DeRozan looked to show the fans why he deserved the money. He showed that in the second quarter when the 23-year-old threw down a nasty alley...

Toronto Raptors’ Amir Johnson doesn’t just wear any shoes when balling, he wears shoes that feature his face like these customized Nike Huarache 2K4s via The Basketball Jones. Earlier tonight, Toronto Raptors forward Demar DeRozan decided to excite the fans at the Air Canada Centre with a nasty alley-oop dunk in the second quarter of their game against the Indiana Pacers.
Watch as DeRozan flies for the dunk after receiving a pass from teammate, Randy Foye:
The Raptors are not expecting Andrea Bargnani to suddenly become a more productive rebounder.
The Toronto Raptors looked as though they may steal a game from the Indiana Pacers, leading by 8 points with 4 minutes to go until the Pacers went on a 10-2 run and with this pretty game-winner from George Hill. The post George Hill’s Game-Winner Over Toronto Raptors (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
The Raptors 18th season kicks off on Wednesday night when they host the Indiana Pacers at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. After a roughly six month hiatus since their last meaningful (and I do use that term very loosely) action, and a pre-season showing that has taken expectations up a level or two, the anticipation for opening night is as high in Raptor Nation as it has been since...
