The Detroit Pistons began to explore a trade for Rudy Gay with the Toronto Raptors, offering the expiring contracts of Charlie Villanueva and Rodney Stuckey.

Gay was acquired in January in a trade completed by former general manager Bryan Colangelo.
Gay is owed $17.9 million in 13-14 and $19.3 in 14-15.
