PLAYERS: Jacque Vaughn
TEAMS: Orlando Magic
With the season drawing closer with every day, we prognosticators and commentators are trying to figure out what the Magic are going to look like. The mystery of what this new era of Orlando basketball is too tantalizing not to try and figure out. Monday, I took a look at what Orlando's half court offense will look like. Jacque Vaughn could very likely run an offense similar to the one he ran in San Antonio. This offense is heavy on pick and rolls and taking shots from specific areas on the floor -- notably the corner 3-pointer. This is an offense very similar to the one Orlando has run with Stan Van Gundy. The pick and roll will be a big part of that. A new coach bring opportunity for some very basic changes in philosophy. And the teams in transition tend to run offenses that favor just that -- transition. Stan Van Gundy was not a coach that had his teams get out on the break and run. Even with Dwight Howard, so fleet of foot and able to run, Orlando was very selective ...

Orlando Magic sign former Celtic E'Twaun Moore

Orlando Sentinel: The Orlando Magic have agreed to contract terms with free-agent combo guard E’Twaun Moore and will announce his signing in the near future, two league sources told the Orlando Sentinel. Moore, who is 6 feet 4, appeared in 38 games for the Boston Celtics as a rookie last season, and he could compete with Ish Smith for the Magic’s backup point-guard job and provide...

Magic jersey fourth worst in NBA, ESPN says

Fashion is subjective... I think. My sisters would know better. For sports fans, so long as their team is not wearing anything hideous, it matters very little what a team is wearing when they go out on the field. There is some aesthetic pleasure in your team's jersey though. They come to define eras and hold special weight. That is probably why there is such a fight in the United...

Charles Oakley calls out Magic for whiny Dwight

The Magic are not going to escape Dwight Howard for some time. He will haunt the franchise as it moves toward its future and as the team tries to recover. Until that next superstar center comes, Howard will be the one who got away. And everyone will want to know how the hell that fish got off the line. Everyone is weighing in trying to pick up the pieces over a wrecked Magic...

Orlando Magic Sign E’twaun Moore

The Magic picked up Moore for 2yrs, undisclosed amount. Moore was productive for Boston off the bench and still raw. Good pick up.

Orlando Sentinel writer attempts to make the case for Kevin Durant signing with the Magic in 2016

As we make our way through Orlando Sentinel’s Brian Schmitz’s thought process on this, let’s keep a few things in mind. First, he’s a writer in a city that just watched their franchise center drag them through the mud before heading off to Los Angeles. And second, he’s a writer in a city that watched their franchise center drag them through the mud in 1996 before heading...

The changing offensive tides

The roster has changed. The front office has changed. The coaching staff has changed. What that all means for the Magic is still yet to be determined. Jacque Vaughn may not quite be sure what it will look like yet. The fans certainly don't. Vaughn promised when he took over as head coach that his playing style would be flexible. That he would design an offensive and defensive...
