After the news of Rockets signing Dwight Howard began to spread, many of his soon-to-be teammates rejoiced on Twitter.
But current Rockets center Omer Asik isn't one of them.
Shortly after Howard officially announced his decision to play in Houston, Asik contacted the Rockets asking to be moved, however the team has turned down his request and will continue to do so, according to an ESPN report.
Asik is reportedly unhappy about his playing time and role being diminished as Howard and him play the same position at center.
After Howard's decision was made, it was also being reported by various outlets that Asik and perhaps even Jeremy Lin would be on their way out of town in a sign-and-trade deal with the Atlanta Hawks to bring Josh Smith to Houston to create a big three of their own with Howard and James Harden. However, that ship sailed after Smith chose to sign a four-year, 56 million contract with the Detroit Pistons.
