A day after Kelvin Sampson interviewed with the Milwaukee Bucks for their vacant head coaching position, another Rockets assistant coach is reportedly doing the same Friday. According to a report by Yahoo! Sports, Houston assistant J.B. Bickerstaff will meet with Bucks officials sometime Friday to interview for the team's head-coaching job. Bickerstaff, 34, interviewed Tuesday with the Detroit Pistons and is the third candidate to interview with the Bucks this week, as Nate McMillan and Sampson were in town earlier this week. The son of former NBA head coach and longtime assistant Bernie Bickerstaff, J.B. Bickerstaff played two seasons at Oregon State before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota. Following his playing career, Bickerstaff joined the Gophers as the program's director of operations. After spending the 2003-04 season as a radio analyst for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bickerstaff joined his father's coaching staff with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2004 and stayed on until Bernie Bickerstaff's dismissal in 2007. J.B. Bickerstaff then headed back to Minnesota and joined Randy Wittman's staff with the Timberwolves. Bickerstaff stayed with Minnesota through 2011, serving under Wittman, Kevin McHale and Kurt Rambis. Bickerstaff has spent the past two seasons on McHale's staff in Houston.
