Former NBA player Darius Miles was charged with a felony for allegedly trying to carry a loaded gun onto a plane, St. Louis radio station KMOX reported Friday.
Miles, 29, was arrested in early August at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport after the firearm was detected by security officials during X-ray screening. He now faces a charge of unlawful use of a weapon.
Miles, drafted third overall out of East St. Louis High School by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2000, last played in the NBA in 2009. He averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds across a checkered career with the Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies.
Miles was also arrested in 2009 in Fairview Heights, Ill., near St. Louis, for driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
