Recently, there were reports that former San Antonio Spurs center Fabricio Oberto was to be offered an assistant coaching spot with his former team. However, according to Real GM, it appears "Fab" has not been offered a coaching spot. Fabricio Oberto hasn't accepted an assistant coaching job, nor have the San Antonio Spurs offered him one, league source tells RealGM. — Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 25, 2013 The Spurs coaching staff has drawn a good amount of attention as the season was drawing to an end. Coach Budenholzer will now be the head coach of the Hawks next season and current assistant coach Brett Brown drew attention from Denver and Philadelphia. Needless to say, the Spurs need to shore up their coaching ranks. The team has shown they will hire former players such as Ime Udoka this season so Oberto on the bench isn't a stretch. Add the fact his fellow countryman, Manu Ginobili, will likely be resigned next season (and possibly his last in the NBA) so those two on the bench for one last hurrah will be nice to see. Stay tuned to Project Spurs to see if Oberto will come back to the Spurs.
