Kobe Bryant's estranged wife Vanessa spent the weekend shopping for apartments in New York, TMZ reported Monday. Vanessa Bryant, who filed divorce papers in December amid rumors the NBA star was unfaithful, is reportedly seeking refuge in the Big Apple to flee the disdain of Lakers' wives and fans. The brunette beauty won't relocate permanently but wants a place in Manhattan, sources told the celebrity website. The Bryants have not yet finalized their divorce, expected in June, and the couple sparked rumors of a reconciliation when they shared a kiss after a Lakers game on Valentine's Day. Previous reports estimated Vanessa Bryant would receive $75 million in a divorce settlement in addition to the family's three Newport Beach mansions, should the pair move forward to end their marriage. They would also likely share joint custody of their daughters, Natalia, 9, and 5-year-old Gianna. The couple married without a pre-nuptial agreement in 2001, when he was 21 and she was 18.
