Fox Sports West:
The Clippers are nearing a deal with veteran free agent Antawn Jamison that could be announced later this week, according to a source close to the situation who was not authorized to discuss it publicly.
Jamison, a 15-year veteran who spent last season with the Lakers, has stated his desire to play for an NBA title contender at this point in his career.
The 6-foot-8 forward is coming off an uneven season in which he averaged career lows in points (9.4), rebounds (4.8) and assists (0.7) while shooting 46.4 percent. He underwent surgery in late April to repair an injured right wrist.
Jamison also endured hurt feelings during the season, publicly criticizing Lakers Coach Mike D'Antonis lack of communication over his playing time and skipping exit interviews with the team.
The signing of Jamison would give the Clippers 14 players under contract for next season and end any interest in re-signing Lamar Odom, who remains a free agent.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes wrote on Instagram that the Lakers' time is over and their fans should stop dwelling on the past.
Kobe Bryant is back on the court; the NBA 2K14 court, this is.
In this new clip from Ronnie2K’s Instagram page, we get to see Kobe and the Lakers take on the Phoenix Suns. Off the dribble, Kobe fakes a pass and then raises up above Eric Bledsoe for the jumpshot. Of course, Bryant makes the shot – the 2K series is the most realistic basketball game out there, after all.

Following the cheating scandal that has plagued Clippers Lamar Odom and his reality TV star wife, Khloe Kardashian-Odom this summer, allegations of drug use by Lamar have dropped into the press. Wesley Johnson has been a Laker for less than a month, but he’s already fitting in with the purple and gold just fine. Laker fans have been clowning on the Clippers for years, and now Johnson is joining in with the festivities.
On Sunday night, Johnson took to his Twitter account to ask a simple question regarding “The Fast and the Furious” movie franchise:

Pau Gasol is one of the greatest athletes that Spain has ever produced; that’s why it makes perfect sense to have the two-time NBA champion assist his country in landing the world’s biggest sporting event.
According to the Association Press, Gasol will be a spokesman for Madrid’s 2020 Olympic bid:

One of the best dunks from the 2012-13 NBA season had to be Clippers center DeAndre Jordan posterizing Pistons guard Brandon Knight on an alley-oop.
Back in May, the fine folks over at ESPN Sportsnation gave DeAndre the chance to recreate the dunk with a Knight cardboard cut-out.

Lamar Odom has a drug problem, and his addiction has resulted in him being missing, according to TMZ. TMZ reported on Friday that Odom has been abusing hardcore recreational drugs for the past two years. The 2013 class of NBA Rookies voted Kobe Bryant as their favorite player in the league in a poll given to them by John Schuhmann at the Rookie Photo Shoot earlier this month.
According to NBA.com:
Who is your favorite player in the league?
1: Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers — 21.2 percent
2: LeBron James, Miami — 15.2 percent
I find this hard to believe because he was overweight when he came into Clippers camp, but according to TMZ, Odom is a certified crack addict. Normally, crack addicts lose weight, but I guess there are exceptions to every rule.

Metta World Peace is one of the scariest guys in the league once he steps onto the court, but once off it, he’s a light-hearted dude who gave Laker fans endless laughs during his tenure in Los Angeles.
However, MWP recently told the NY Post that last season “wasn’t fun” for the defensive specialist:
World Peace spoke a lot more highly of the Knicks than the Lakers, who made...
