Minnesota Timberwolves' guard Ricky Rubio has been an extremely exciting player to watch when he has his free reign on the court. Unfortunately for NBA fans, he still has time before he gets back to 100%. Rubio expresses his frustration in an article reported by ESPN.“It’s hard because I still have a little pain and it’s something you have to fight through and get through,” said the 22-year-old Spaniard before the Minnesota Timberwolves lost 113-98 to the Dallas Mavericks, a fourth consecutive defeat for Minnesota and yet another game that Rubio would come off the bench and be limited by a minutes restriction. “I talk with the guys who had the same injury and they say about a year, a year-and-a-half [after surgery] they started feeling, like, normal,” Rubio continued. “It’s tough when you’re playing with something in your mind; you don’t want to think about it, but it’s in your mind that you’re going slower and you are not who you used to be. “That’s going to come, but you have to be patient.”In his short stint this season, Rubio has shown flashes of his brilliance, but even his teammates are noticing that he hasn't been doing what he usually does.J.J. Barea:“You see flashes, but you can see he is nowhere near like he was last season. He was moving. The way he plays he needs to move like he used to move, where he’s faster and he’ll be able to get to pick his spots, get wherever he wants so he can make those passes.”So far he's played just limited minutes, just 20 a game. His shooting percentage has been horrendous, although even last year it wasn't so great either. But with time, hopefully Rubio is able to comeback and help lead a talented Timberwolves team into the playoffs.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? Ricky Rubio blows layup against Clippers (Video)

Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio had an embarrassing moment in the second quarter of Thursday night's game against the LA Clippers when he missed a wide-open layup on a fast break. Rubio's layup attempt was really bad, as it didn't even hit the rim. TNT's Inside the NBA studio crew got a few good laughs at his expense. The shot summed up Rubio...

Rubio will make his first start this season

MINNEAPOLIS Ricky Rubio will make his first start of the 2012-13 season Thursday against the Clippers. Since returning on Dec. 15, the point guard has come off the bench for his first 10 games. He's been anxious for his minutes limit to be lifted, especially on the team's recent road trip, and after playing 26 minutes in Dallas Monday (two minutes more than his then-24 minute...

Rubio: Healthy players need to 'step up'

MINNEAPOLIS They clustered around the tunnel, as they always do, above, around, leaning over. Thursday night was not a night for congratulations, not from those fans zealous enough for the leaning over the railing sendoff. A 90-77 loss shooting 35.7 percent as a team when the Clippers looked like they were giving the game away that's hardly the stuff of cheers and high-fives...

Rubio back in starting lineup for Timberwolves

Ricky Rubio is back where he belongs - in the starting lineup for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Spanish point guard got the start on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, the first time he's been on the court for the opening tip since he tore two ligaments in his left knee last March. Rubio missed nine months with the injury and has been on restricted minutes since...

Timberwolves' Ricky Rubio Back in Starting Lineup

Ricky Rubio has been coming off the bench since making his return from torn ligaments in his knee.  The Minnesota Timberwolves' point guard suffered the injury early last year and just recently made his return.  Last night, he made it back into the starting lineup. According to the Associated Press, Rubio's placement in the starting lineup was decided shortly before the...

Timberwolves look poised to alter lineup

MINNEAPOLIS Maybe Ricky Rubio just really likes wearing white. At least, that was what Terry Porter would have liked you to believe this morning at the Timberwolves' shootaround, when the point guard was wearing a white starter's jersey for the first time all season. Porter was vague when discussing whether Rubio would start tonight against the Clippers "He's...

Ricky Rubio Only Gets Backboard On A Layup

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been hit by the injury bug awfully hard this season. Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love, the team’s two lead players, have both missed significant time, with Love currently sidelined and Rubio still trying to find his rhythm. It’s clear the Rubio isn’t at the top of his game right now, and understandably so, coming off of a major knee injury. And if...

Ricky Rubio Says Teammates Have To ‘Start Doing A Better Job’

“It’s tough,” Rubio said after the game. “I mean, I’m not going to hide. It’s tough when you’re playing, and there’s no more bodies over there. You have to remain doing new things every single game, and we can’t get the rhythm. But that’s no excuse. We are professionals. I think that players that are healthy have to step up and start doing a better job.” ...

The Intelligent Player: Rubio vs. Maravich

Jan.16,2013 I was reading comments in a basketball forum about the lackluster player of Ricky Rubio since he's returned from a serious ACL injury suffered last year. Rubio has had a real tough time since he started playing again last month, and does not appear to be moving as well as he did before he  was injured last March. So there have been a number of posters on various...

Hay caramba! Ricky Rubio blows uncontested layup at point blank range (video)

The once-promising season of the Minnesota Timberwolves is spiraling out of control courtesy of injuries that have decimated the roster. The T’Wolves are now sitting at 16-20 after dropping its fifth-straight game on Thursday night, losing to the Los Angeles Clippers by a score of 90-77. Adding injury to injury, two more Timberwolves players limped off the Target Center court on...
