Portland Trail Blazers center Robin Lopez danced on the floor celebrating a Will Barton slam dunk finish on an alley oop during the second quarter of Wednesday night's game against Brooklyn. It was that kind of night for the Blazers, who wore the Portland nickname "Rip City" on the front of their jerseys. It was almost as if the Nets didn't show up for the game, as the Blazers blew the Nets out of the building with a 44 point margin of victory. Barton had 20 points and a whopping 11 rebounds coming off the bench, so it might be time to give him some more minutes.Video via NBA. This post appeared first on Holdout Sports. Back on Track The Portland Trail Blazers entered the NBA All-Star Weekend having lost six of the last nine contests, but they bounced back nicely with two wins in three games this past week. Portland Trail Blazers - Turning A Negative Into A Positive

Back on October 24, 2013 I made my prediction for this Portland Trail Blazers season. I said, “I think this team is very talented and ready to compete. The chemistry will take a bit to catch up. I predict a 38-43 win season and barely missing the playoffs. I hope they prove me wrong.” Well they have proven me wrong by winning their 40th game with 24 remaining. I admit my...

The Brooklyn Nets simply embarrassed themselves in their lone visit to the Rose City, plummeted by the Portland Trail Blazers 124-80 Wednesday night. Portland (40-18) had a ton of guys step up but no one made such a memorable impact than Will Barton, who had career-highs of 20 points, 11 rebounds to go with and three assists in 28 minutes. His energy was contagious and those finishes...

Lillard leads Portland past Denver 100-95

Damian Lillard made up for the absence of fellow All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge by scoring 31 points in the Portland Trail Blazers' 100-95 win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. Lillard scored 12 in the third quarter when it looked as if the Blazers were headed for a blowout win, but he saved his biggest shots for late in the fourth after the Nuggets had trimmed an 18-point...

Damian Lillard continues to pick up the slack for the Portland Trail Blazers with fellow All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge out. Jason Collins gained cultural significance without even scoring a point for the Brooklyn Nets in their last time out. Nets Fall Apart in Portland, Lose by 44 to the Trail Blazers 124-80

This was an opportunity for a  statement game for the Brooklyn Nets, as they came into Portland to face the LaMarcus Aldridge-less Trail Blazers.
