HOUSTON -- Rockets guard James Harden returned from a one-game injury hiatus and provided Houston with a scoring punch that, considering the opponent, few anticipated would be so sorely needed. With the lowly Wizards refusing to relent on the heels of their first road win on Tuesday night in New Orleans, the Rockets struggled before pulling out an unsightly 99-93 win Wednesday night at Toyota Center. Harden paced the Rockets (10-11) with 31 points after being sidelined on Monday with a sprained right ankle. The Rockets maintained their breakneck pace against the Spurs even without Harden, eventually falling in overtime. Their offense was less efficient against Washington. The Rockets built a 10-point lead at the close of the first quarter and surrendered that advantage thanks to nine second-quarter turnovers before allowing the Wizards (3-16) to answer their 15-2 run with a 10-0 burst late in the third. It took Harden converting a three-point play at the 6:13 mark of the fourt...

HOUSTON -- Rockets guard James Harden returned from a one-game injury hiatus and provided the Houston Rockets with a scoring punch that, considering the opponent, few anticipated would be so sorely needed. Wizards passed on Harden

James Harden has already proven that he is capable of success outside of Oklahoma City. Before he was traded to the Houston Rockets, there were worries that Harden was just a product of a system, playing opposite two of the best players in the game and he would flounder if he had to carry a team. The Rockets are not blowing away the competition by any means, but at just a game...

Celtics-Rockets Live: James Harden, Chandler Parsons Could Present Problems for C’s

10 a.m. ET: When the Celtics last took the floor against a Texas opponent, they played 10 minutes of free basketball. After a day off from practice to recover from that tough win over the Mavericks, the Celtics hope for a much shorter, much easier victory over the Rockets. Houston is led by James Harden, who came over from Oklahoma City in a late preseason trade and has become unquestionably...

Jeremy Lin, Houston Rockets Sing Awful Renditions of ‘The Dreidal Song’ (Video)

Jordan Farmar may be at least one example of an NBA player to suit up in the Israeli Super League, but overall there aren’t many Jewish players in professional basketball. Perhaps that’s why it looks like the Houston Rockets need to do a little brushing up on the melody and lyrics of “I have a Little Dreidel” — otherwise known as “The Dreidel Song.” Apparently someone...

Spurs 134, Rockets 126 (OT)

HOUSTON -- Perhaps this was a special, limited engagement of Linsanity. Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin matched his career high of 38 points, but Houston could not overcome the San Antonio Spurs' bevy of sharpshooters, falling 134-126 in overtime Monday night at Toyota Center. Guard Gary Neal paced San Antonio (18-4) with 29 points, and Tony Parker added a triple-double of...
