James Harden scored 31 and Chandler Parsons added 20 to help the Houston Rockets pick up their fifth straight win, a 125-112 victory over the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night
Houston trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half, but used a pair of runs in the third quarter to go on top and build a big lead.
Metta World Peace had a season-high 24 points for the Lakers, who were playing without their top three big men Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill - all out with injuries.
Kobe Bryant added 20 for the Lakers and Steve Nash had 16 as they tied a season-high with their fourth straight loss.
The Rockets have rallied from double-digit deficits for their last three wins.

Vanessa Bryant reportedly sells mansion for $3.22 million
Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, recently finalized the sale of one of her three Southern California mansions, TMZ reports. Kobe signed the couple’s three properties over to her wife when they were beginning divorce proceedings in late 2011. Vanessa listed the 6,000 square foot mansion on sale for $3.75 million in September. TMZ reports and a listing service confirms that the property...
Video: Nash is sweaty but World Peace doesn't mind
Steve Nash and Metta World Peace have only been teammates for a few games but already their bond is tight. Perhaps a bit too tight.
During the Lakers recent loss to the Rockets, Nash needed to dry off a bit which included his sweaty, damp, and probably smelly armpits. Not a problem, any athelete needs to dry off. It is understandable but what isn't is when same player hands...
Lakers' Dwight Howard Says Injury Not As Bad As It Seems
Although it seems pretty bad, Dwight Howard is saying his shoulder injury isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. The Los Angeles Lakers announced that Howard had a torn labrum in his shoulder, but Howard clarified yesterday. He said the injury is actually a separation from the bone - still a tear, though in medical terms.Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles says...
POTD 1/8/13: James Harden on Robert Sacre
I was sincerely pulling for Robert Sacre to have a good game in his first start in place of the injured Dwight Howard… mostly because I wanted the Lakers to win, because that just would’ve been funny. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. Sacre did score 10 points, but, as the Lakers got blown out 125-112, he grabbed just three rebounds in 27 minutes and played Washington...
Photo: Kobe Bryant is the only one in the lineup
Just so everyone is aware, the Los Angeles Lakers lost, again. They were beat up by the Rockets and their problem may have been due to the lineup they put out on the court. The team is missing Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol, and we all know that Kobe Bryant can be a ball-hog at times, but this was taking it to another level. For what it is worth, this was Chris Webber’s suggestion H/T Game On!
A Video Plea To Trade Pau Gasol… Soundtrack By Sarah McLachlan
Things are not going as planned this season for the Los Angeles Lakers, and fans are none too pleased. The Lakeshow have managed a paltry 15-18 record even with the additions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. While we believe that it is easily no one player which is the root of the problem, this plea to have Gasol fired is pretty phenomenal. The icing on the cake is the Sarah McLachlan...
Kobe Shoots Out Pic of Him and Dwight Squaring Off
We’re one happy family T…
Lakers star Kobe Bryant had a bit of fun with his newly formed Twitter account yesterday. A report surfaced that Kobe and Dwight almost came to blows after another frustrating loss, so Kobe shot out the pic above. No better way to squash a rumor than to make fun of it. Definitely funnier than their current #11 spot in the Western Conference.-TO

Nice Assist! Steve Nash Dishes Armpit Sweat Towel To Metta World Peace
What’s the best assist in Steve Nash’s career? This one from last night in Houston during the Lakers 125-112 loss. Even on a milestone night where he eclipsed the 10,000 career assist mark, the magician pulled a fast one on teammate Metta World Peace. After exiting the huddle Nash wiped his nose/mouth, both arms and both armpits.
Metta, who appeared to witness the whole sweat...

Rockets- False Hope?
No Dwight Howard or Pau Gasol. No big draft trade, no superstar, no hope. This was the reality for every Houston Rocket fan. Local radio shows laughed at the Omer Asik signing, not knowing of his defensive dominance. Linsanity was to make money and be bad enough to get a top 3 draft pick in next year’s draft. Trading for James Harden gave people hope, but just enough to know...
Coach Popovich discusses Lakers, defends D’Antoni
Once an elite NBA power, though it’s still not too late, the 15-19 depleted Los Angeles Lakers have flown into San Antonio to visit the (27-10) San Antonio Spurs.
