Houston Rockets center Brad Miller underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee in mid-May and is expected to miss six months of action.
Miller's knee has been a nagging issue. He had arthroscopic surgery on it last summer and then missed 22 games because of it this season.
Doctors recommended that Miller get microfracture surgery, a procedure that has been known to severely limit a player's jumping ability.
Miller, who is entering the last year of his $4.7 million deal, acknowledge that he isn't overly concerned with any consequences of the surgery, having already played 13 seasons in the NBA as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue.
Miller, 35, averaged 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds last season.
