Fox Sports Houston:
Houston Rockets forward Marcus Morris was cited with misdemeanor battery early Sunday morning, Lawrence city prosecutor Jerry Little said Monday.
Morris, who played three seasons at the University of Kansas, was in Lawrence to watch the Jayhawks beat Missouri on Saturday. According to the Lawrence Journal-World on Monday, a Lawrence police spokeswoman said that an employee of The Cave, a Lawrence nightclub, alleged he was punched by two men after a verbal dispute turned physical early Sunday morning. The report said that Morris, a 22-year-old Philadelphia native, and another man, 23-year-old Julius K. Harris, also of Philadelphia, were both cited for misdemeanor battery and given notices to appear in Lawrence Municipal Court on March 20.
Morris has spent most of his rookie season in the NBA D-League, but was called back up to the Rockets just last week. He has played in three NBA games, averaging 5.7 minutes.
