Beyond The Buzzer:
Omer Asik of the Houston Rockets has received a warning for violating the league’s anti-flopping rule during the Rockets vs. Spurs game on Dec. 10.
Asik’s flop occurred in the third quarter of a 134-126 loss to the Spurs. Asik and Tim Duncan were battling for rebound position and when Duncan made body contact, the Rockets center flailed backwards as if he had been struck in the head. The referee called a loose ball foul on Duncan.
If Omer Asik violates the league’s policy a second time he will be fined $5,000.
Video of the flop can be seen on NBA.com.

AN NBA HOLIDAY TRADITION!
Happy Hanukkah folks and sorry for making you don ear muffs this early in the morning, however they are necessary. The Houston Rockets took their singing talents to YouTube in an effort to try and sing “Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel” and the result is pure Internet gold. Enjoy! Watching these members of the Houston Rockets belt out the Dreidel Song is truly magnificent, and appropriately timed since we’re smack dab in the middle of Hanukkah. Really brings new meaning to the term eight crazy nights…of terrible singing.

Jordan Farmar may be at least one example of an NBA player to suit up in the Israeli Super League, but overall there aren’t many Jewish players in professional basketball.
Perhaps that’s why it looks like the Houston Rockets need to do a little brushing up on the melody and lyrics of “I have a Little Dreidel” — otherwise known as “The Dreidel Song.” Apparently someone...
HOUSTON -- Perhaps this was a special, limited engagement of Linsanity. Rockets guard Jeremy Lin matched his career high of 38 points, but Houston could not overcome the San Antonio Spurs' bevy of sharpshooters, falling 134-126 in overtime Monday night at Toyota Center. Guard Gary Neal paced San Antonio (18-4) with a career-high 29 points, and Tony Parker notched his first...
As the focal point of the Rockets' offense this season, James Harden is shooting 25 percent on roughly four shots per game.
HOUSTON -- Rockets guard James Harden returned from a one-game injury hiatus and provided the Houston Rockets with a scoring punch that, considering the opponent, few anticipated would be so sorely needed. With the lowly Washington Wizards refusing to relent on the heels of their first road win, Tuesday night in New Orleans, the Rockets struggled before pulling out an unsightly...
James Harden scored 31 points to lift the Houston Rockets to a 99-93 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.
After suffering a sprained ankle last Saturday against Dallas and missing Monday night's loss to San Antonio, Harden returned to lead the Rockets to their first victory under coach Kevin McHale in more than a month.
The Wizards threatened late in the...
LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are the leading vote-getters, while Jeremy Lin has a chance to bring Linsanity to the NBA All-Star game.
Lin was running third among Western Conference guards behind Bryant (639,419 votes) and Chris Paul (353,603) when the NBA released the first All-Star balloting update of the season Thursday. Lin was a little more than 55,000 votes behind Paul as he...

Tweet So far this season there haven’t been many highlights during Washington Wizards games, atleast not for the Wizards. But just before halftime of tonight’s 99-93 victory by the Rockets, handing Washington its 16th loss of the season, Toney Douglas provided one by pulling up from Texas Avenue to beat the buzzer. The San Antonio Spurs survived a shootout of the highest order Monday night, beating the Houston Rockets 134-126 in overtime. With James Harden out with a sprained ankle, the key match up of the game was shaping up to be Tony Parker and Jeremy Lin. They did not disappoint. Parker finished with 27 points, 12 assists and 12 rebounds, his first career triple double. Lin had...
James Harden has already proven that he is capable of success outside of Oklahoma City. Before he was traded to the Houston Rockets, there were worries that Harden was just a product of a system, playing opposite two of the best players in the game and he would flounder if he had to carry a team.
The Rockets are not blowing away the competition by any means, but at just a game...
