Monta, Monta, Monta…ridiculous! How could this guy not be an all-star!??!!? Imagine if he had better role players to help the Warriors have a winning season? Coming alive in the fourth quarter, Monta Ellis carried this game on his shoulders. When his battery mate was having his most terrible game of the season so far, Monta stepped it up and left no doubt that he is the superstar of the team and a deserving all-star call. Monta finished with 35 points, 7 assists and 3 steals. It was his 19th 3o point game of the season.
He hit several big shots towards the end of the game. First was the ridiculous three point shooting foul he drew on Earl Watson. Not only did he draw a shooting foul, a definite “no, no” in defending but he also made a laser line shot for an old fashioned four point play. Then with about 40 seconds left in the game, Monta drove left, pulled up and threw in a soft jump shot to keep the Warriors ahead.
And Steph Curry finally hit his first and only bucket with an reverse lay-up to seal the game as the Warriors went up ahead by 5 with about 12 seconds left.
Warriors win the game 100-107 against a struggling and injury riddled Jazz team. This game wasn’t won just because of Monta. The bench help the Warriors keep the score close and give the offense some more fire power. Once again, Reggie Williams came out and played. Could he be in the run for best sixth man of the year? Who knows, considering no one thinks that Monta is an all-star just cause the Warriors do not have a winning record. But Reggie came out firing and hit for 15 points while Jeremy Lin, Brandon Wright and Charlie Bell combined for 15 points and kept the Warriors afloat in the second quarter while Steph Curry was in foul trouble and stayed in foul trouble only hitting one shot and finished the night 4 points.
Dorell Wright and David Lee finished with 22 and 13 points respectively.
