Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo's ankles are "fine" after twice tweaking them in Friday night's 95-94 overtime loss to the 76ers. He is expected to play in Saturday night's rematch in Boston.
Paul Pierce landed on Rondo's ankle while grabbing a rebound with 1:47 remaining in regulation, but Rondo limped through it and continued to play. Then, on Rondo's failed baseline jumper as overtime expired, both ankles buckled as he slippped on a Sixers decal on the Wells Fargo Center floor. His Celtics teammates rushed to his aid, helping him to his feet and off the court.
"He left the locker room walking fine," the Celtics media relations staff relayed, "and [coach] Doc [Rivers] nor our trainer [Ed Lacerte] mentioned anything."
Rondo missed a game against the Nets this season with a sprained ankle, and he has missed extended stretches in both of the past seasons with the same injury.
Well that's good news. Tickets still availabl...

As CLNSRadio’s resident Sneakerhead (even though I despise that term), I couldn’t help but notice Rajon Rondo’s choice of footwear so far this season. Rajon Rondo is under contract to wear the products of Nike Basketball, and at times their subsidiary Jordan Brand. Last year he regularly wore the Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer and the Nike [...]
Here are the full highlights of Rajon Rondo's 16 point, 13 rebound, 14 assist triple double from Friday night in Philly. Rondo also chipped in 3 blocks and 3 steals for good measure.

According to Lakers beat reporter Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers were watching the Celtics-76ers game in the locker room before their game against the Thunder tonight and were impressed by Rajon Rondo's near triple-double in the first half (he went on to secure the triple-double in the 3rd quarter). Dwight Howard chimed in that "the game just comes easy to him:"...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“I should have taken the lay-up,” Rondo said. “But I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
Said Garnett: “I thought he had the lay-up. It was just unfortunate. I was indecisive. I should have been more...
The Boston Celtics continue to struggle in the middle of the Eastern Conference.
A recent series of missteps by temperamental point guard Rajon Rondo has done nothing to elevate their cause.
In their 95-94 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Rondo flubbed what should have been a game-winning scenario.

Today marks the 56th birthday of Larry Legend himself, the greatest player that came through the Celtics franchise and an undisputed top 10 basketball player of all time. His legend has only grown since he retired as people were able to reminisce on some of his most historic moments. Everyone enjoys talking about his epic game 7 performance against the Hawks and Dominique Wilkins...
PHILADELPHIA -- Rajon Rondo picked up another triple-double, but the Philadelphia 76ers picked up the win. Evan Turner, despite missing nine of his previous 10 shots, swished a 13-foot jumper with 3.9 seconds left in overtime to lift the Sixers past the Boston Celtics, 95-94, Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center. "I was just trying to get to my sweet spot on the court...
Paul Pierce and the Celtics were losers on Friday night
Rajon Rondo had a triple-double by the time the third quarter was over, but you would not have been able to tell from his post-game comments.
“I should have took the layup,” said Rondo after he missed a game-winning opportunity slipping while taking a jump-shot. “I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
As an aside...
Celtics were up four at the half but after a lousy 3rd quarter, fell behind by as much as eight points. Rajon Rondo showed why he's clearly the Celtics' best player. His all-around game becomes contagious and he nearly had a triple-double early in the second half (he'd achieve it later in the 3rd quarter). But the Celtics comeback, which momentarily gave them...
Rajon Rondo and Jrue Holiday lead the Eastern Conference in assists and had no trouble racking them up the last time they met.
The point guards will match up twice this weekend when Rondo's Boston Celtics and Holiday's 76ers begin a home-and-home set at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night.
Boston's Rondo leads the NBA with 12.8 assists per game while Holiday is averaging...
Russ Smith spoke to the media following his career high 31 point performance against UMKC. Russ said watching Rajon Rondo the day before helped motivate him to try and do more than just score points. Smith also had 7 rebounds, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
It's been eight days, and three games, since Doc Rivers called his team soft following their rather embarrassing loss at home against the Nets. Since then the team is 2-1, beating the Blazers by 18, losing in Milwaukee by 3 (both of these games without Rajon Rondo) and then beating the Timberwolves by 10 last night. More than just the results though, the team has played differently...

For sure these aren't as much fun when we lose, but regardless they give a good look into the psyche of the other side. I've highlighted my favorites in bold. What are yours? We get another shot at these guys tonight, this time at home. Hopefully we finally get a win against them.
It doesn't get any better than the Celtics versus the Sixers... Talk about a...
Jeff Green’s suddenly Mr. Consistent Offense; Kevin Garnett had zero rebounds but still managed to be awesome by shooting 9-11 for 19 points in just 23 minutes (the last stat = the most awesome); Jared Sullinger had nine rebounds in 22 minutes; Rajon Rondo continues to fill up the stat sheet; and Boston’s defense has been revived from the dead ever since Rondo wrassled with Kris...
