Much like many suspected, a suspension was handed down by the NBA today for the altercation between the Nets and the Celtics last night.  Per multiple league sources (including Greg Payne’s twitter), Rondo being the primary perpetrator of the altercation received a two-game suspension.  Seems about right to me, I have no qualms with it. Again, Rajon Rondo's been suspended 2 games by the NBA, according to Danny Ainge, who's on WEEI right now.about 1 hour ago via Twitter for iPhoneReplyRetweetFavorite@GregPayne_ESPNGreg PayneThe news means that Doc will have to get creative with the line-ups.  When Rondo was injured earlier in the season Doc opted to start Barbosa in his absence.  Last night, the Celtics staff chose to utilize the ‘point-forward’ strategy with Pierce being the primary ball-handler and distributor in the offense.  To put it lightly, it worked marginally better than the Hindenburg.  Other options are likely Lee or Terry easing the Celtic’s into their half-court offense, but neither has stepped up to fill the back-up point guard role. While this does put a 5 billion watt spotlight on the lack of depth behind Rondo as the point guard, it will force the Celtics into making a decision.  They have extra minutes to play around with at point guard, and maybe, just maybe, we will be pleasantly surprised and someone on Boston will step up.  A man can dream right?
