Journeyman center Ronny Turiaf was looking for the right feel for his seventh NBA stop. The 6-10, 249-pound French native found it in Minneapolis, his agent confirmed "We're very excited, he's very excited," said agent Mark Bartelstein, who cited his client will sign a two-year, 3.2 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. "This is a great fit for him and a great fit for the Wolves." Turiaf joins the Timberwolves as unrestricted free agent following one season with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Gonzaga product spent the first three years of his career with the Lakers, then hopped from coast-to-coast for five seasons -- first Golden State, then the New York Nicks, Washington and Miami. His career numbers won't wow anyone: 4.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in 16.8 minutes per game. What Turiaf does offer Minnesota, though, is a third viable post to backup Nikola Pekovic -- assuming the restricted free agent re-signs -- and bring along first-round draft pick Gorgui Dieng. He also has some championship series experience, having played for the Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals (they lost 4-2). Turiaf had a one-year, 1.1 million contract with the Clippers before becoming an unrestricted free agent. Several teams reached out to him, Bartelstein said, but talks with the Timberwolves front office contained the most substance. "There were a number of teams interested," Bartelstein said. "The more we looked at it, the more we realized he fit in with the Timberwolves perfect." Turiaf is scheduled to sign his contract tomorrow, Bartelstein said. Follow Phil Ervin on Twitter
