Fox Sports North:
MINNEAPOLIS It would not be a stretch to guess that Ricky Rubio is the only NBA player who would tweet a meme of two tiny bunnies whispering to one another as his means of announcing that he's heading to a doctor's appointment.
It's even less of a stretch to say that he's the only NBA player who, in doing so, would surprise no one.
Monday evening, Rubio posted that very meme on his Instagram account, with the caption "I'll tell you a secret: I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow." Oh, and don't forget the little emoji of what looks like a monkey covering his mouth in surprise. Because that's totally necessary, too.
And then just hours after the bunnies, Rubio's Foot Locker adidas commercial aired during several commercial breaks during TNT's broadcast of the Nets-Knicks game. It was some of the first mass airings of the ad, which features Rubio playing basketball, at a club-type restaurant AND wrestling on a mattress in someone's backyard.
Yes. Wrestling on a mattress. In a suburban backyard. And then making the most menacing face he could make. (So really, not very menacing at all.) By the time the spot was filmed in mid-November, wrestling must have been added to his list of cleared activities perhaps it's lumped in with lateral movement in his ACL rehab?
Every NBA player should be this fun to cover.
In the month of November, Rubio has tweeted the following messages:
"Can't wait for tomorrow! Let's go Wolves!!! Season game opener. Let's start it with a big W. Who is coming???? nba"
"Wow!!! Thats a great comeback!!!!! Proud of my teammates. Wow!!!"
"Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections. Happy Sunday!"
"Good morning everyone. Listening "Sweet Home Alabama" while Im heading to practice. I wish u guys a happy week and dont forget to smile."
"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."
And besides those bunnies, he's also shared a photo of himself in a tracksuit for National Tracksuit Day (apparently this is a real thing) and a shot of teammate Alexey Shved sleeping, post-haircut, with the caption "Gotcha!!!! The young Toni Kukoc is tired!"
Total exclamation point count for November on Twitter: 44. Total number of faux arguments with a good friend and teammate about fashion sense: one. Total usage of the word "swaaaaag": one. Pictures containing the quote "Always be yourself. Unless you can be a unicorn. Then always be a unicorn.": one.
It doesn't get much better than that.

RETURN OF RICKY
After consulting with his doctor, T'Wolves point guard Ricky Rubio returned to practice with the team on Wednesday and has been cleared for full contact with no restrictions.
MINNEAPOLIS The state of Minnesota just let out a massive sigh. After an eight-month absence, Ricky Rubio is back well, almost.
The Timberwolves announced Wednesday that Rubio has been cleared to participate in full-contact practices with no limitations. He visited with Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail, Colo., early this week, and this was the outcome the team expected going into...
Ricky Rubio has been cleared to begin practicing with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the first time since tearing ligaments in his left knee last March.
Rubio met with the doctor who performed his surgery in Vail, Colo., this week to get the final clearance, and the team announced that he was given the green light Wednesday.
Rubio tore the ACL in his left knee in a game against...
The Minnesota Timberwolves got a big boost when Kevin Love returned to the court. Now, they may get another boost earlier than they expected. Ricky Rubio, who underwent knee surgery toward the end of last season, may be back sooner than most expected. Rubio was initially thought to be out until well after Christmas. However, he has been working out on his own, and Rubio may...
The truth is that he doesn’t, however you get a glimpse at what it would look like if he did in Ricky Rubio’s latest commercial for Foot Locker and Adidas. This is the third spot from Foot Locker which has caught my eye over the past month, the first featured James Harden and the third featured Carmelo Anthony. You may not think of Foot Locker being front and center with Nike...
After a consultation with Dr. Richard Steadman, Ricky Rubio has been cleared for full-contact practices with no limitations. Rubio began cutting and moving laterally in late October/early November. He returned to non-contact practice on November 18th. Now, 10 days later, he is being cleared for full-contact practices. Timberwolves management hoped he’d be back by Christmas, and...
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced on Wednesday that guard Ricky Rubio has been cleared to participate in practice with no limitations. It its statement, the team said he was cleared after consultation with Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail, Colorado. It also said the Wolves' medical staff will determine his ability to participate in games after monitoring his progress. Team...
Kevin Love shocked a lot of people when he made his season debut for the Minnesota Timberwolves last week. He was supposed to be out a little bit longer but there he was, scoring and rebounding like he hadn’t missed any time at all.
There must be some sort of healing formula in the water up in Minnesota because Ricky Rubio is reportedly on track to come back faster than originally...
Ricky Rubio could resume playing in games for the Timberwolves as early as next week.
As mentioned earlier today, Amar’e Stoudemire will be back whenever he gets back. There is no time table for his return. I don’t expect to see him start appearing on the waiver wire, although in shallow leagues there’s no reason to have him on your roster.
Anthony Davis – He underwent an MRI that showed a “stress reaction” in his left ankle. A stress reaction is also...
