Russell Westbrook could return to action Thursday against the Miami Heat (photo: Keith Allison).Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook could return to action as soon as Thursday against the Miami Heat. Yahoo Sports is reporting that the franchise will re-evaluate Westbrook on Tuesday.Westbrook tore his lateral meniscus in April, and he underwent three surgeries since his initial injury. The last surgery was a knee scope in late December -- a necessity due to swelling that wouldn't go away. Westbrook had been getting his knee drained to relieve the swelling. In 25 games this season, Westbrook averaged 21.3 points (42.4% FG, 79.3% FT), 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 1.4 3-pointers, 1.8 steals and .1 blocks. Westbrook's return shouldn't damage Reggie Jackson's fantasy value. The Thunder play two games this week. If I had another option -- say one who was playing well and has a four-game slate this week -- I'd hold off on starting Westbrook. The Philadelphia 76ers also play two games this week. Owners of Thaddeus Young, Michael Carter-Williams, Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes need to explore their options.
