Russell Westbrook let his emotions get the best of him Thursday night.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are 30-22, and are 8-2 over their previous 10. Despite losing two in a row, they are just three games out of the third spot out west. But Thursday night was a bit of a heart-breaker. That’s because Denver’s Gary Harris would hit a buzzer-beater, ultimately sinking the Thunder.

But then, Westbrook would let things spill over… to the fan section.

Here’s the thing, though: what’s that fan doing on the court? How’s that fan able to get so close to Westbrook? Therefore, we can’t see a fine coming for the reigning MVP. But more importantly than that, this sort of thing needs to stop before it escalates. We don’t need fans getting this close to these players, especially right after a game. And especially when it’s the opposing team’s fans getting in their faces.

However, Steven Adams walking towards that fan is probably more than enough to deter this in the future.

On the season, the Denver Nuggets are 27-25 and clinging to the eight-seed out west. That places them just one game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers, who rest in ninth. On any other night, Gary Harris would have been the story. But today, it’s Russell Westbrook’s emotions. No matter how warranted they were.
