Look, we had no idea who Savalace Townsend was until today, either. He’s a basketball player for Arkansas-Pine Bluff and he threw down a dunk every bit as nice as the one Blake Griffin threw down over Kendrick Perkins on Sunday.

Townsend, who averages 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, threw down his monster against Grambling State earlier this week. Of course, he got no coverage because everyone was blathering on about Griffin’s dunk.

Well, we’re here to change that. Check out Townsend drive the lane and unleash.

Premise of Video: Arkansas-Pine Bluff guard Savalace Townsend drives the lane and unleashes a beast of a dunk reminiscent of the one the Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin unleashed on Sunday.

Climax of Video: The dunk. Duh!

Conclusion: Frankly, we like this dunk better than Griffin’s because, 1. Townsend actually drove around someone and through the lane himself, and 2. he didn’t just throw the ball through the hoop and scrape two fingers against the rim like Griffin did. He got it all!

Mozgov refuses to be Griffin's poster child

LOS ANGELES The NBA DictionaryMain Street edition went back to rewrite Thursday night when the term Mozgov'd (verb; to be used as a poster prop, or otherwise humiliated, on a signature Blake Griffin, or likewise thunderous, dunk) got, well, Mozgov'd. Kendrick Perkins has deleted his Twitter account since getting dunked on by Blake Griffin

Part of Kendrick Perkins died on that Blake Griffin dunk Monday night. If you have yet to see Griffin’s dunk, first of all, I’m glad you were able to pull through out of your coma, and second, you can see it here. Griffin took Perkins’ soul on that jam. Okay, this is just metaphorically speaking. But there has been one actual casualty from Griffin’s posterization of Perkins...
