Found July 07, 2012 on Waiting For Next Year:

According to The Plain Dealer’s Mary Schmitt Boyer, the Cavaliers are one of multiple teams with some level of interest in Minnesota power forward Anthony Tolliver. Tolliver, an unrestricted free agent, is 27 and has been in the league for four years spending time with San Antonio, Portland, and Golden State before Minnesota the last two years.

Count #Cavs among teams with some interest in UFA Anthony Tolliver

— M.S. Boyer/J. Valade (@PDcavsinsider) July 7, 2012

He averaged 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds, playing in 51 games averaging 17.3 minutes per contest. In 2009-2010, his best season, Tolliver spent most of his time with the Warriors and averaged over 12 points and 7 rebounds a game while shooting 33% from three-point range. At 6’8″ and 240 lbs, Tolliver is about the same build as Antawn Jamison and the Cavs could be trying to grab some of that stretch four ability lost by not having Jamison on the cheap. If he lands in Cleveland, Tolliver would compete for big man minutes with Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, first round pick Tyler Zeller, Samardo Samuels, and undrafted free agent Kevin Jones.

Antawn Jamison might be headed to the Bobcats

I just posted about one of the newest Tar Heels in the NBA, Kendall Marshall, in my last post. I will now be looking at one of the most seasoned veterans coming out of the North Carolina Basketball program, Antawn Jamison, who has been part of the National Basketball Association for the last 14 seasons. For the small forward this is most likely going to be his last contract in the...

Two Free Agents Cleveland Cavaliers Interested In?

While yesterday Cavaliers 101, and other outlets, reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers were looking outside the United States for potential free agents, there are now rumors that the Cavaliers are interested in two current NBA players. The first is Derek Fisher, the veteran point guard who will turn 38 in August. Fisher spent most of [...]

Cleveland Cavaliers Sign Draft Picks Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller

Yesterday the Cleveland Cavaliers signed both of their draft picks, Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller. Financial details were not disclosed at this time. Waiters, a 6’4″ guard from Syracuse, was selected with the number four pick in the draft, while Zeller was selected at number 17 by the Dallas Mavericks, and then traded to Cleveland for [...]

Wojnarowski: Cleveland Could Be Free Agent Destination For Andrew Bynum in ’13

Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported today among his talks regarding Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, and potential trades that Andrew Bynum would be looking at a small list of potential destinations if/when he reaches free agency in the summer of 2013. They include Houston, Dallas, and… Cleveland? Dallas and Cleveland are among teams with cap space that would interest Bynum in 2013...

Cavs' patience in free agency makes sense

Theres no need to panic over the Cavaliers lack of moves in free agency. I write that for a couple of reasons: 1. Owner Dan Gilbert said a long time ago he believes the draft and trades are the two most important aspects of building a team -- implying that signing free agents is a distant third. General manager Chris Grant agrees. 2. The Cavs arent alone when it comes to being...

Cavs Tristan Thompson to headline #Battle4Ohio Game for Team Cleveland

The Battle for Ohio Celebrity Game tips off at noon ET in Columbus tomorrow, and Tristan Thompson will be headlining the event for Team Cleveland. Pretty cool of the Canada native to adapt his new area code as his own and make that trek down I-71 to participate I think. Evan Turner, who averaged 11 and 8 during 13 playoff games for the Sixers this past season, will be headlining...

Antawn Jamison Coming to Charlotte?

After the season the Charlotte Bobcats had last year there really is only one direction for the team to go—up. Assuming that new head coach Mike Dunlap is able to work with young guys at the pro level like he was in college (since the age range is pretty similar I don’t see why not) [...]
