The tipoff of Game 1 between the Heat and Thunder for the NBA championship can’t come soon enough, as reporters have officially run out of questions to ask the players and coaches. In fact, some of them ran out of things to discuss a couple of days ago. On Sunday, Thunder coach Scott Brooks was asked about the ridiculous fashion statement Russell Westbrook has been making throughout the postseason. His answer was as classic as it gets.

“Russell can wear anything,” Brooks said according to The Oklahoman. “He’s great looking, he has an incredible body, a great smile. Anything, he’s going to look good. I have to dress up nice to look decent.”

Between his ridiculous glasses and shirt combo, insanely bright red pants and hideous shoes, you have to wonder if Westbrook has us right where he wants us and is simply playing the ultimate practical joke on the fans and media. Kevin Durant’s wardrobe selections have been questionable at best as well, but Brooks says his stars are free to where whatever they want if they continue to win.

“As long as they keep playing the way they’re playing, I don’t care what they wear,” Brooks reiterated. “I don’t care if they wear glasses with no lenses in it, I will always wear mine with a lens.”

I’m with you, Scottie. The type of chemistry the Thunder have going is something you don’t screw with. If they feel the need to take the podium wearing assless chaps, then so be it.
