You have to wonder why a guy with Drew Gooden's pedigree and production keeps bouncing from team to team. He came out of Kansas as the fourth overall pick in the 2002 draft. And he hasn't been a total bust, averaging 12 points and eight rebounds per game while hopping from Memphis to Orlando to Cleveland to Chicago to Sacramento (one-game stay) to San Antonio ... and now to Dallas. A scribe in Jayhawk Country thinks that Gooden just needs a chance and hopes he gets it in Dallas. He can't understand why teams don't want to hang on to a guy with Gooden's size and athleticism but offers a nice review of the Kansas-ex's strange hair decisions during his NBA career. Well, Gooden's rep for dozing off during games probably has something to do with his tendency to change addresses. And that might explain why he was on the market for weeks after the free agency shopping spree started. It also could explain why the two contenders Gooden has played for recently didn't make much of an effort to bring him back. Gooden explained on Twitter today that the Cavs "didn't show as much interest as other teams which surprised me" and the Spurs "really didn't contact me during free agency."
