ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points and Jose Calderon added 15 points and 10 assists, helping the Toronto Raptors to an easy 123-88 victory over the injury-depleted Orlando Magic on Saturday night.
Rookie Ed Davis had 18 points and seven rebounds as Toronto won for the seventh time in eight games. The Raptors, who hit a season-high 15 3-pointers, got 16 points apiece from Kyle Lowry and Terrence Ross.
Rookie Andrew Nicholson led Orlando with a career-high 22 points. Arron Afflalo added 14 points and Ish Smith had 13 points and six assists.
The Raptors hit nine of their first 10 attempts from behind the 3- point line and built a 67-47 halftime lead. Orlando cut the deficit to 76-65 after two free throws by Nicholson with 5:16 left in the third quarter, but that was as close as the Magic would get the rest of the game.
The Magic played without starting point guard Jameer Nelson (hip) and his backup E'Twaun Moore (elbow). But their real problem was at the defensive end.
Orlando repeatedly gave up layups and when they did close down the lane, left Raptors shooters wide open on the perimeter.
Toronto had its best offensive half of the season in the first two quarters, shooting a season-high 58.1 percent and scoring a season-best 67 points. The Raptors hit nine of their first 10 shots from beyond the 3-point line and 10 of 14 for the half.
Pietrus started the run with three 3-pointers in the first seven minutes, the last one tying the game at 19-all. Toronto finished the quarter on a 17-2 run, making its last seven shots, six layups and one 3-pointer.
The Raptors hit six more 3-pointers in the second, five of them by reserves Terrence Ross, Alan Anderson and Kyle Lowry. Calderon made the last of the 3s, stretching their lead to 67-47 when Calderon nailed one from behind the arc just before halftime.
Magic coach Jacque Vaughn did his best to try and get Miami to stop the Raptors, giving playing time to all 11 healthy players. Offensively, that was a success as the Magic hit a respectable 19 of 43 (44.2 percent) of their shots, but they couldn't guard anyone.
Davis had 14 points, Calderon 12 and DeRozan 11 by halftime.
The Magic did slow the Raptors down long enough in the third period to make it interesting for a short time. Nicholson worked over fellow rookie Ed Davis for 14 points in the quarter. His two free throws with 5:16 left cut the Magic deficit to 76-65, but that was as close as Orlando would get.
Alan Anderson stopped the Magic rally with a layup and the Raptors closed out the quarter on an 11-6 run to take an 87-71 lead into the final period.
The Raptors scored at will in the fourth period, even when they emptied the bench. John Lucas and Quincy Acy played the last three minutes of the game, with Lucas hitting a 3-pointer and Acy a dunk.
NOTES: The Magic are 0-5 since losing Glen Davis to a shoulder injury. . Toronto had only eight turnovers, the fourth time in the last five games the Raptors have been in single-digits in turnovers. . The Raptors reserves outscored the Magic bench 60-31. . Hedo Turkoglu, playing for the first time since injuring his hand in the season opener, scored eight points and had five rebounds for Orlando.

It has been widely assumed for months that the Raptors would try to package Calderon’s expiring deal with Barngani’s in hopes of landing a top-flight player in return. But the Raps have actually functioned better so far this season when Lowry — who brings an undeniable “swagger,” as coach Dwane Casey likes to say, but is also undeniably up and down with his moods — has...

Andrea Bargnani has been the subject of constant trade talk.
There is a big hole in Orlando's lineup. Just about everyone will remind you about it. The five-game losing streak Orlando is suffering through is (perhaps) coincidentally matching the time since Glen Davis suffered a strained shoulder.
To that point, Davis was puting in a career season in averaging a career-best 16.0 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game. His scoring...
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Even after Saturday's 123-88 blasting of the Orlando Magic to conclude a .500 December, Toronto Raptors coach Dwayne Casey said his team hasn't turned the corner. "Not yet," said Casey, whose team is now 7-1 in its last eight games after posting its largest margin of victory on the season. "Defensively, we still have a ways to go. We'...
The Orlando Magic obviously lost Dwight Howard, who is one of the best defensive players in the NBA, in the offseason, and many expected the team's defense to suffer mightily as a result. But early in the season, the Magic have showed promise at times on defense, despite being very young in the frontcourt. It became the bedrock of the team's fast start.
Stan Van Gundy still communicates with the player who was most responsible for him being successful with the Orlando Magic, and the same guy who was chiefly responsible for him being fired. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Van Gundy said he still exchanges friendly text messages with Dwight Howard.

But because of the leadership shown by veteran Jose Calderon, Lowry will come off the bench whenever he gets back.
“Jose has earned the position,” Casey said before the game. “Jose has played as well as any point guard we’ve had this year so that’s where it is right now. We’ll see in the next couple of days but right now Jose is the starting point guard and has done a...
