Philadelphia made it clear this off-season they’re rebuilding for the future. The Sixers traded all-star point guard Jrue Holiday to New Orleans for Nerlens Noel and former head coach Doug Collins resigned. Brett Brown was hired recently as the 8th coach in 10 years for Philly. He was a longtime assistant for Gregg Popovich in San Antonio. In this time of transition, Evan Turner understandably has concerns about the direction of the franchise. New head coach Brett Brown told Evan Turner that winning is the main objective. During an interview at his Evan Turner Basketball ProCamp on Saturday at New Hope-Solebury High School, Turner said he doesn’t subscribe to that point of view. And, based on his Friday night telephone conversation with new coach Brett Brown, Brown doesn’t, either. “I told him, ‘Everybody wants to be in tank mode and thinks we’re going to lose. I intend on trying to win as much as possible because losing’s too easy,’ ” Turner said. “He said, ‘Well, they got the wrong coach if we’re going to go out and lose on purpose. We want to compete and get better.” It’s good that Brett Brown and Evan Turner are expressing optimism, but in reality it’s going to be another long-year in the city of brotherly love.
