The first game of the postseason for the Sixers didn't go as planned. They drop Game 1 to the Bulls today in Chicago  103-91. QUICK HITS from Sixers Game 1 Loss to Chicago: The Sixers shot 40% from the floor and 11% from beyond the arc. The Bulls had a 51% field goal percentage and a substantially more effective 43% from 3-point range. The man the Sixers knew they had to contain, Derrick Rose, led all players with 23 points and 9 assists (he also had 9 boards). Elton Brand led the Sixers with 19 points. He was 8 for 13 from the floor. The Sixers' "All-Star" Andre Iguodala was 5th on the team in scoring. His 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists are not enough if the Sixers expect to put up a fight in the game. The Sixers bench (Williams, Young, Hawes, Turner) outscored the Bulls bench 39-23. However, the Bulls starters badly outscored the Sixers starters (Iguodala, Brand, Allen, Meeks, Holiday)  80-52. Game 2 will be played at 8:00pm on Tuesday. Here's a look ...

Rose tears ACL, done for playoffs

Burden was too heavy on Rose

The burden was always too much on Derrick Rose, and it was his own team, his own bosses, his own town putting it on him. It's not just about this season, but also about an entire generation for a franchise. It's about replacing Michael Jordan in your own hometown. It's about not getting enough help. As great as Rose is, he's not Michael Jordan, but instead a 6-foot...

Derrick Rose's surgery likely to be postponed

Though the Chicago Bulls may have captured a 1-0 lead in their opening round series versus the Sixers Saturday, the win was overshadowed after All-Star point guard Derrick Rose suffered a torn ACL in his left knee late in the game. And now that Rose is lost for the remainder of the postseason, it means it is time for him to get his knee repaired. But any immediate surgery will be...

Derrick Rose tears ACL, out for season

Derrick Rose’s MVP defense has been cursed the entire year. He missed 27 out of Chicago’s 66 regular season games. He hurt his back, his toe, his groin, his feet, and now he’s torn his ACL. It seemed like C.J. Watson and John Lucas III played more prominent roles in Chicago’s Eastern Conference title than Rose did. And now they’ll have figure more than Rose into Chicago’s...

Rose’s ACL injury a devastating blow to Bulls: another reminder that health is guaranteed to no one

SCOTT JACOBS The Bulls have overcome adversity before. With their 2011 MVP Derrick Rose shelved for nearly 27 games in this lockout shortened season due to various injuries, Chicago banded together, showing an impressive resilience and team resolve that helped them finish off the best record in the NBA for the second consecutive season. They beat some of the NBA’s elite without...

The Chicago Bulls dreams of a trip to the NBA Finals have now come into question since they have lost star guard Derrick Rose for the rest of the playoffs with an ACL tear. It happened late in the fourth quarter in game one of their playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers as Rose attempted to put up a shot in the paint. Rose landed awkwardly on his left foot as he...

Rose injures knee in Game 1 win over Philadelphia

Derrick Rose suffered a scary injury to his left knee in Chicago's game 1 win over the Philadelphia 76'ers.  With 1:10 left in a double-digit game and Rose a rebound and assist away from a triple-double, Rose came to a jump stop and his left knee buckled.  He laid on the floor for a few minutes and was helped off and into the locker room.  After the game, Tom Thibodeau...

10 takeaways from the Derrick Rose Injury

Derrick Rose done for year with a torn ACL

The Chicago Bulls looked like one of the best teams in the NBA earlier today, as they were easily dispatching the Philadelphia 76ers in the game 1 of their series.  However, the Bulls postseason dreams may have been eliminated late in the 4th quarter, as Derrick Rose went down with a knee injury that has [...]

Rose played 2 out of the 3 final regular season game and looked...
