Video: Radio broadcast of Wilt's 100th point

50 years ago today, Wilt Chamberlain accomplished the greatest individual feat in NBA history, scoring 100 points in a 169-147 victory for the Philadelphia Warriors over the New York Knicks in Hershey, PA. Chamberlain was 36-63 from the field and 28-32 at the free throw line. Chamberlain's 1961-62 season is as incredible as that single night in Hersey. That season, Chamberlain...

In todays league I don’t think this will happen anytime soon, but never say never. Pictured above is a rare 1992-1993 card from the Upper Deck Basketball Heroes set dedicated to Wilt and his outrageous accomplishments. Happy 100pt day…   Please...

ROI: Tales of the ‘Big Dipper’

Wilt Chamberlain: Human and Superhuman There’s never been anyone like him. He hated the nickname “Wilt the Stilt” because it reminded him of a big crane standing in a pool of water. He preferred “the Big Dipper,” more luminous, more other-worldly. If you define athleticism as a combination of size, speed, strength and agility, the young Dipper, a decathlete and basketball...

Wilt Chamberlain: An American Original

by Peter Walsh / @goinginsquad Wilt Chamberlain will be forever connected to two numbers: 100 and 20,000. One hundred for his performance in Hershey, PA, on the night of March 2, 1962 and the second for his famous sexual conquests. In a sense, these two numbers fit Wilt perfectly—he was a larger than life figure who did everything in mammoth proportions. But, 100 and 20,000 also...

Bill Russell to be the voice behind Wilt 100 – so fitting!

My DVR is set. I have never been so excited to watch a documentary on a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. Well… technically, Wilt Chamberlain was still playing in Philadelphia when he notched an astounding 100 points in Hershey PA. Not much is seen of this game as it was back in the days [...]
