Hawks coach Larry Drew said leading scorer Josh Smith has a strained right hip flexor and will not play against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Smith was injured on Friday in the Hawks' 102-94 victory at Cleveland. He is averaging 16.6 points. Smith's 8.2 rebounding average is second on the team behind center Al Horford. Atlanta was without guards Devin Harris, who missed his sixth straight game with a sore left foot, and Anthony Morrow, who left the Cavaliers game with a strained right hip. Horford started against Indiana despite a right hip contusion. Pacers coach Frank Vogel said that guard George Hill started despite a strained right groin. Hawks-Rockets Preview

If Josh Smith misses another game, the Atlanta Hawks will still have plenty of confidence in their offense as they open their trip. That doesn't bode well for a Houston Rockets team giving up points - and giving the ball away - at an alarming rate. Going for just its third win in Houston in 21 years, Atlanta will try to extend its winning streak to five on Monday night when...

Cavaliers (7-23) vs. Hawks (17-9) - Game 31

OPENING TIP The Cavs are riding a two-game winning streak for the first time this season, and theyve done it without Anderson Varejao. Thats a good thing, considering Varejaos bruised knee will keep him out of both games this weekend (the Cavs play Saturday at Brooklyn). The Hawks have also won two in a row, including Wednesdays double-overtime thriller vs. Detroit. This is their...

Hawks-Cavaliers Preview

After earning back-to-back home wins, the Atlanta Hawks are hoping to keep their momentum going during a road-heavy stretch. A visit to Cleveland might help get that off to a victorious start, but the Cavaliers beat the Hawks last month and will be seeking to build on their first win streak of the season Friday night. Atlanta (17-9) endured one of its worst stretches this season...
