Every morning, we'll give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day.
1: Miami moves on
Give New York some credit, they kept it close for a little while. Miami won by 12 and the game wasn't easy, but the series is over after five games and the Heat can now focus on the Indiana Pacers. We'll save the New York analysis for later.
The Pacers are an interesting matchup for the Heat when you consider they have a point guard that can be a big problem in Darren Collison and Roy Hibbert who, if he asserts himself, can give Indy two advantages. If David West can negate Chris Bosh, then we get down to the LeBron/Wade vs. Granger/Paul George combo that, while clearly in Miami's favor, is enough to give you pause. If LeBron or Wade have an off night and Granger/George get hot... well....
Look, I know Miami's the favorite over everyone they face. I'm just saying Indy's going to give them a fight. They'll win at least a couple of ...

Miami Heat PA announcer mocks Amar’e Stoudemire for foul out: ‘He has been extinguished’
Jason WhitneyExactly what the Miami Heat need right now is to crack wise, and have more hate brought upon them. The Heat PA announcer is already amongst the worst in the league, at least in terms of being annoying. He really didn’t need any help. This is just classless. Amar’e Stoudemire nearly lost all feeling in his hand over this freakish accident, and managed to return and...
Amar’e Stoudemire offers Shane Battier a hand to get up only to rescind the offer
Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire had himself quite the playoff series against the Heat, didn’t he? Tearing his hand open after punching the glass case enclosure for a fire extinguisher, then missing Game 3 because of his stupidity, and finally fouling out in Game 5 after being called for an offensive foul on Shane Battier. However, what Stoudemire did to Battier after the...

D-Wade cracks joke about Mike Bibby
The Heat star had a little fun at his former teammate-turned-Knicks guard's expense, saying, "I know Mike has made more shots in this series than he made all last year."
Let Lebron Cook: James Send Knicks Fishing (Video)
"Enjoy your summer" - signed Lebron
Lebron James and the Heat advance the 2nd round with only a Dwayne Wade fall away 3 pointer as their only blemish. Yes they probably should have swept this Knicks team but it’s hard to win 4 games in a row against any NBA team. For the series Lebron put up 27, 5 and 6 but it was the 29 points 8 boards and 7 dimes that sent the Knicks...

Nothing but respect between James, Anthony
MIAMI - The game time on the box score read 2 hours, 24 minutes. With that in mind, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were best of friends Wednesday for 21 hours, 36 minutes.
When the ball is thrown up, it all changes.
"Our friendship goes behind basketball, but, during the game, there's really no friends," Miami's James said before he faced off against New York...
Heat apologize to Amar'e over comment
The Miami Heat and public-address announcer Michael Baiamonte are apologizing to Amar'e Stoudemire and the New York Knicks for a comment about how the forward was ''extinguished from the game'' when he fouled out of Game 5 of the teams' Eastern Conference first-round series.
The Heat say the phrase Baiamonte used represented a momentary lapse in judgment...

Pacers Set to Face the Miami Heat in 2nd Round
Pacers Set to Face the Miami Heat in 2nd Round - Pacers CenterI’m not much for giving inspirational addresses, but I’d just like to point out that every newspaper in the country has picked us to finish last. The local press seems to think that we’d save everyone the time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I’m for wasting sportswriters’ time. So [.....

MIAMI -- The chaos has come to an end for the New York Knicks. The championship pursuit continues for the Miami Heat. If Miami guard Dwyane Wade is having concerns this summer about whether he will be healthy enough to play in the Olympics, an extended deadline for team selection could help him make the most informed decision possible.
