Steve Blake is often noted to have a quiet temper, but during the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, that temper came flying out when he had a heated exchange with what seems to be a fan after he fouled out of the game late in the fourth quarter. The chirping begins around the 45-second mark.

You can only catch a glimpse of Metta World Peace’s face, but even he seems a bit shocked by the words coming out of Blake’s mouth.

H/T Beyond The Buzzer

  • Bush League, if he's a real pro he shouldn't care what a fan has to say/ When you start listening to the fans you'll soon find yourself sitting with them.
  • Bush League?! Not a smart choice but one small mental/emotional mistake does not make you bushleague. His past behavior can attest to that. Steve Blake has been a class individual and this does not wipe all that away. Besides, even a fan paying to watch a sporting contest does have limits...we may disagree on those boundaries but there are boundaries on fan behavior and speech.
  • The player should always take the high road. If a fan gets stupid all the playere has to do is have security toss his sorry ass.
  • Have you EVER played sports before? Until we know what was said by the fan I don't want to hear anything about BUSH LEAGUE! Blake has been nothing but a professional throughout his career (as far as I know)..... You don't EVER hear his name or read bad stories about this family man!....
  • are you sure you don't mean steve nash
lakers look better with steve blake on court
  • It's called having "rabbit ears!" Blake should consider himself darn lucky he's even on an NBA roster. LAL have the worst bench in the NBA and did little to improve on what they had last year. The Lakers losing will become a habit for them this season as long as Kobe refuses to pass the torch and the ball. Kobe is, and always has been, a terrible teammate because he is so self-servingand selfish.
  • Kobe's passing or lack thereof has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Lakers losing. Not sure if you are watching the games and know anything at all about basketball...or because the Lakers are losing, you are going to harp on something negative about their biggest star. People can hate Kobe til death, but he has been playing great basketball in there first 3 games. The offense, defense and bench are what is killing them...all the while Kobe is deferring to Howard most of the game...but people still pull "perception" out of their butts.
  • Not crazy about heckling, but when u're playing in demanding cities like L.A., N.Y., Chicago, and u're playing lousy, players can expect this. Only thing is I wish the fan would have gone after other players like Kobe and WorldPeace for some of their lousy play. Now, if the Lakers were playing great then that fan would have kept his mouth shut.
  • What Kobe lousy play? He is averaging 30 pts a game while shooting 60% form the field...all while trying to get Howard and Nash involved. Again, another person harping on Kobe just because. And World Peace hasn't been playing THAT bad....not to defend him, but no one player deserves anything negative on this Laker team. They have all contributed to not being collectively good on defense and confused on offense. Blaming any one person is silly.
  • I love some of these responses "he's lucky to be in the league". "he is bush league", etc, etc. I really hate how people act like players aren't allowed to be emotional or have a back and forth with a fan. And if they do, depending on WHO they are, people make comments like the ones made here. Like Steve Blake can't say anything to anyone ever, because he is Steve Blake. All the while, no one here knows nothing about what lead to the exchange, but the player, because of who he is is judged, because you know, fans can't be wrong, because they in some way "own" players....because they pay for tickets. All I know is that Steve Blake deserves to be in the NBA because he put in the work to get who are we to judge him because of this one situation. We shouldn't even care that much, but, for whatever reason, people so. Anyway, back to more important things...
  • I dont care the Lakers 0-3
I just wish Kobe would stop with the jersey in his mouth Odyssey
  • anyone on the same team as KOBE deserves everything he gets.....
  • I agree with Tbuck111, those players deserve what they get playing with KOBE....yeah, like 5 championships!!!
  • Why is everyone on Kobes' back? He had nothing to do with this. For that matter, what's the big deal and who cares what the fan might have said!

Video: Metta World Peace's Lifetime movie trailer

So yeah, Metta World Peace is starring in a Lifetime movie produced by Nancy Grace. It's an adaptation of a book Grace wrote called -- naturally -- "The Eleventh Victim."   Here's what the forward formerly known as Ron Artest told XX Sports Radio in San Diego (via yours truly at SportsRadioInterviews) about the role, which he landed after appearing with Grace...

Kobe Bryant to critics: “Shut up and let us work”

According to Kobe Bryant, it’s perfectly fine for him not to be a happy camper about the Lakers’ 0-2 start. But as for the rest you, it’s not. You are not allowed to analyze or criticize the first two games of the Lakers’ season. And if you do, Bryant has these poignant words for you, amongst others: “Shut up and let us work.” Oh and just for good measure, he doesn...

Clippers send Lakers to 0-3 start with 105-95 win

Kobe Bryant stuck his injured foot in an ice bucket and tried to relax. His star-studded Los Angeles Lakers are off to their first 0-3 start in 34 years, and even he isn't sure why nothing is working so far. ''It's particularly hard for me, because I'm not the most patient individual in the world,'' Bryant said. ''But you have to be. You have...

Lakers rout Pistons, finally get first win

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Dwight Howard scored 28 points, Kobe Bryant had 15 points and eight assists, and the Los Angeles Lakers finally got their first victory of the season, 108-79 over the winless Detroit Pistons on Sunday night. Metta World Peace scored 18 points and Pau Gasol added 14 for the Lakers, who went 0-8 in the preseason and started the regular season 0-3 for just the fourth...

The Lakers Big Gamble Isn’t Paying Off

Mike Brown introduced the “Princeton Offense” to the Lakers, and then Rome fell before it even could crown itself an empire.

Shootaround: Battle Los Angeles

Los Angeles Clippers (1-0) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (0-2) 10:30 p.m./ESPN Kobe Bryant does not want anyone talking about this game. You know, ESPN should probably go ahead and not show it. Because all they will talk about is how the Lakers are struggling to grasp the Princeton Offense and have two losses to their name already. So Bryant is telling everyone to shut up about the...

Lakers-Celtics and the ties that bind them

We are having an outlier experience where down is up and up is down in this bizarro season of 0-2 start for the  Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. I was overjoyed to see the Lakers struggle out of the gate. I was not so thrilled to see Boston's new 'Big Three' play so passively in this 0-2 stretch. Friday night's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks showed a team...

The last thing the Lakers wanted to hear

It's been rocky start to the 2012-13 NBA season for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team has gone 1-3 to kickoff the season and have looked out of sorts early in the season. And though Dwight Howard finally exploded for 28 points and seven rebounds in LA's first win over Detroit, the team still have to develop chemistry on the court and losing former NBA MVP Steve Nash won&...
