The Phoenix Suns want to be taken serious as a rival, so what better way to be taken serious, than to get your rivals attention.
When the Lakers think rivalry, they think Celtics, Sixers, Heat, Spurs, and Thunder. They don’t necessarily think Suns, but Phoenix is trying to change that.
The L.A. Times is reporting that the Suns are so desperate to ratchet up the rivalry, they have purchased the domain rights to beat la.com.
As for the Phoenix Suns, the NBA team bought Beat.la for $5,300. GoDaddy just started a marketing push to help brand .la as the domain name for Los Angeles, even though it’s the country code domain for Laos. This is a clever domain for the Suns to drum up their rivalry.
The site is live now, and features two links on the home page.
One takes you to a photo gallery depicting the rivalry over the years, while the other takes you to a video feature commemorating the first time the Suns beat the Lakers in the postseason back in 1990.

The risk has outweighed the reward in Michael Beasley’s contract but it would be unlikely for the Suns to get out of his contract based on his recent arrest unless they just eat $9 million.
Beasley’s arrest on suspicion of marijuana possession early Tuesday in Scottsdale is not a misstep that could allow the Suns to escape the three-year $18 million contract they gave him last...
Recently, there has been a push by the folks who manage domain names (like GoDaddy) to start having the city of Los Angeles to use domain names with “.la” at the end of them. According to the fine folks over at “Domain Name Wire“, recently revealed the news that the Phoenix Suns decided to buy the domain name, “Beat.LA”: As for the Phoenix Suns, the NBA team bought Beat...

Part of the Phoenix Suns next attempt at a culture change seems to focus on getting back to a previous culture.
Since returning to town, Coach Jeff Hornacek has emphasized playing at a fast tempo and resurrecting that prolific level of offensive production.
It was how Hornacek worked in a Suns uniform under Cotton Fitzsimmons and what Phoenix fans became familiar with during the...
