For the seeming bargain of a second-round pick, the Phoenix Suns acquired the most improved power forward in the league on NBA Trade Deadline Eve. The subsequent positional redundancy could portend something more interesting moving forward.
According to hoopsstats.com, Marcus Morris checks in as the most improved power forward in the NBA this year. Despite this improvement in his...
Luke Zeller has been released by the Suns to create a roster spot for Marcus Morris.
Marcus Morris has been traded to the Phoenix Suns for a second round draft pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Morris will join his twin brother Markieff Morris who he previously played with at Kansas. Chosen back to back (13 & 14) in the 2011 draft, they are the second duo in the NBA to feature brother teammates (Indiana has Hansbrough brothers).
Looking for something else this afternoon and stumbled on this Grantland article with some extremely complimentary comments from Suns’ coach Alvin Gentry on former Longhorn PJ Tucker:
P.J. Tucker has come out of nowhere this year, stolen Michael Beasley’s minutes, and played really good defense. What is his single best defensive skill?
That sounds like some classic...
Sebastian Telfair will join his 7th NBA team as the Suns traded the point guard, in his 9th year, to the Raptors.
According to ESPN:
The Phoenix Suns have traded backup point guard Sebastian Telfair to the Toronto Raptors for center Hamed Haddadi and a second-round pick, league sources told ESPN The Magazine’s Chris Broussard.

No KG? No problem! This game wasn’t fun to watch if you are a Suns fan, and the forums showed. Jeff Green started at center for the C’s and had his way with them. The Suns fans were out in full quirkiness with their unabashed sorrow for their awful team. The only thing they got jacked up for was when the Morris’s bro and Garrett got some PT…. oh the good ‘ol days of getting...
The Suns have acquired Marcus Morris from the Rockets for a future second round pick.
Sebastian Telfair is in the final season of his current deal.
Tonight, the Celtics finally won a game as they beat the notoriously bad Phoenix Suns by the score of 113-88. Tonight featured two big story lines. The first one, Kevin Garnett was rested. The second one, the team debut of Jordan Crawford. Although I disagreed with resting KG at a time while the team was struggling, it ended up not hurting them at all as Jeff Green stepped up with...
I am shocked Telfair is still in the league.
The Raptors are finalizing a deal to send Hamed Haddadi and a second-round pick to Phoenix for Sebastian Telfair, league source says.

Suns need to create a roster space to absorb Marcus Morris.
8 a.m. ET: Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett still will be walking through that door. The two Hall of Fame players were not moved at Thursday’s trade deadline, and as a result, they will finish at least this season in Boston.
Now the Celtics (28-26) can turn their focus to more immediate matters. Their first opponent on the post-trade-deadline schedule is the Suns (18-37), the worst...
Despite Kevin McHale declaring he’d be “shocked” if the Rockets made a move before Thursday’s 3:00 PM deadline, the team is holding Marcus Morris out from Wednesday night’s game vs. OKC as they currently decide between two deals that will have them part ways with the 2nd year power forward.
Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle confirmed the upcoming move, first reported...
The first domino of the trade deadline fell Wednesday night when the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets completed a three team trade that sent Marcus Morris from the Rockets to Suns, Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich and Toney Douglas to the Kings and Thomas Robinson, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt to the Rockets. Houston also gets a couple of second round picks...
